Just picked up BC Forged MLE81 (19x9.5+20 F 19x11+40 R) w/ Yokohama Advan AD08R tires. I love how these look especially in different lighting conditions. Please excuse the wheel gap... I still need to get the suspension sorted out .

That looks great! Like HRE classic 300s but with more lip. Please don't slam your car. it looks totally fine as is and you will keep your handling and ride quality and not destroy your lip in a week.

LOL. Your car was one of the cars that I saw which made me want to start modding (see my other thread - not wanting to mod). Absolutely love your setup; I couldn't justify the classic 300s, my wife would have had my balls in a vice. Your build is incredible inside-out man. Thanks for your comment.

Looks awesome. What size tires are you running? Also, for the face, you indicate "brushed grey face" is that brushed clear? Or is that a painted silver face? I don't see brushed grey as an option for color on their website. Thx.

Tires are PS4S: 265/30/20 and 295/30/20.

It's important to note that the 295/30/20 PS4S tire has such a large overall diameter, that on full compression, you will have a lot of rubbing under the fender, the fender liner, and the rear bumper (believe it or not) with such an aggressive offset.

You need to do some "work" under the fender to minimize rubbing. I trimmed a large portion of the fender liner. I also ground down the tab where the fender and bumper join with a dremel. I didn't grind away the actual bolt, but there is a lot of tab that is unnecessarily large. This tab (on the fender side) is metal so it will eat away at your tire. I used under coat to seal the exposed metal afterwards.

The finish is a new one they call "Brushed Grey" and it's not on the website yet. It's a very light tint with a weird iridescent sheen that shows up depending on the lighting. In terms of darkness, if the scale between BC's "Brushed Silver" and "Brushed Black" is a scale of 0-10, then "Burshed Grey" is like a 3; it's basically a light tint with a weird iridescence thrown in.

Do you think you would have still had a rubbing issue if you had done 285s out back? I dont want to trim, but i love the more aggressive offsets in the rear.

I don't know. I never ran that tire size. I'm sure there are people who are running that set up though.

BC Forged MLE81

Brushed grey face w/ polished clear lips, black hardware but silver valve stem
Front: 20x9.5 +17 w/ 265/30/20 Michelin PS4S
Rear: 20x11 +37 w/ 295/30/20 Michelin PS4S
Bilstein PSS10 coilovers lowered about 1" front and .5" rear

Shout out to @x.shell for the great advice on offsets, tire sizes, wheel finishes, etc. Your advice was spot on! Perfect fitment with no rubbing at all and without any fender mods or camber adjustments. Also, thanks Mojoman for verifying the rear clearance and taking pictures of your set up for me.

The brushed grey finish is not on their website yet. I saw it first on x.shell's MLE52s. It changes color from light grey to dark grey depending on the lighting. When low golden sunlight hits it, it gets a hint of bronze. I wanted something lighter than dark brushed and this looks about right to me. I took a few close up pictures to try to show the changing color.

Michelin PS4S tires are freaking awesome. I was worried about harsh ride quality going from 19s on 35 series tires to 20" rims on 30 series tires. Well, these 20" Michelins feel great. I can't tell the diff in ride quality between these and my 19s... and they're pumped up to 36 psi vs. the 32 psi I have my 19s set at. The 295s provide noticeably more grip than my 285s.

All the pictures are basically how the car currently sits. I know it's not slammed. I already scrape my Lightweight front lip on my driveway even at this height. However, the last picture is photoshop lowered and slightly raked a bit just to see what my car would look like if I dropped it as low as many of you do.

Thanks! They aren't super light, but are comparable to a set of stock 666 20" rims/tires. I measured mine at 52.0 lbs F and 57.0 lbs R. Compare this to the OEM 666 rims/tires in this thread where the 666 setup was 50.96 lbs F and 56.28 lbs R.

However, remember that the 666 rims are 20x9" and 20x10" whereas my BC Forged rims are 20x9.5" and 20x11.0". Plus, I'm running 295/30/20 rear tires which, according to tirerack, these 295s alone are 2 lbs heavier per tire (29 lbs) than the stock 285/30/20 at 27 lbs. This is not a surprise b/c the 295s look freaking huge compared to the 285s.

So i would say the BC Forged rims alone, despite being wider than the stock 20" 666 rims, are actually about the same weight to perhaps 1 lb lighter.

When I compare them to my stock 437s with upsized 265/35/19s F and 285/35/19 R Michelin PS4S tires, the 437s are noticeably lighter at 49.2 lbs each. It's very strange but my stock 437s were the same weight front and rear even though they were 19x9 w/ 265/35/19 F and 19x10 w/ 285/35/19 rear tires. All 4 corners came out to the same 49.2 lbs (one might have been 49.4 lbs).

Here are my BC Forged rims/tires on my bathroom scale:

Not bad considering the upsize... I'm very well aware of how much bigger the 295 is compared to the 285. Thanks!

Also, keep in mind that those BC's are 2 piece wheels. I was actually surprised how light mine were considering the multi-piece construction. Anyways, if you're looking for weight savings, then you should stick to monoblock forged wheels.

Curious for those of you guys that's been running BC Forged wheels for awhile now. Any issue with the finish or wheel strength?

Are the wheel barrels/lips forged as well or is it just the centers on their multipiece wheels?

Thanks,
Alan
