Probably doesn't even drive since it's a sema car, but shit must rip.

It actually runs and drives - fully functional!

Thank you! The real hats off goes to the team that built it, we just guided the wiring setup/configuration, programming, etc.

You may just be downplaying the complexity of getting the car to fire up with the factory components. Most other builders would've taken the easier route with a standalone system, but it looks you were 100% committed to the challenge!

That's good, though! Modesty is rare when it comes to the serious coding and DME related stuff. I won't say no names, but I know one fairly popular coder who seems to overrate himself...

Ive done a similar conversion on an E82, but instead of the "cut and paste" way that you guys did, I spliced the two systems, had CAN interception, etc. The way you did it is far cleaner, and I can fully appreciate the time, effort and overall quality of that build. Did you take any more pictures of the work-in-progress? I subscribed to your Insta.

does the e30 need to worry about the tire pressure being 1.5 off as well?

This was a great project, especially for being a home garage type of build. Fingers crossed that Corey and team take best in show!

In a word... No.

We " E30 M3 nutswingers " are most entertained by a build along stock lines and would much prefer that if one is building a Caitlin, that a stock E30 is the base car.
There is no reason to destroy a classic to make a Frankenstein.

It's nice seeing an E30 M3 among these pages, but not in that condition with its original heart missing.

Congrats to BPM and HonestAssembly for an amazing build.... I sent a link to Honest for a rare rare set of group A 'mouse ears' for the car...for a GREAT price in case you guys want it looking DTM a bit more...

False. This is an even far heavier motor than those. We know that even swapping an S55 into an N5 M2 adds 130 lbs when installed properly.

I've driven an E30 like this that had both an S52, then S54 and then an S65 in it. During the swap to S54 the owner even had it and then the S65 set back into the firewall and sorry; there IS a point at which too much weight on the nose does change the handling of the car, and that is quoting the owner of such a project.

Spring rates. Mines swapped with a
Euro 3.2 and a six speed -
all Properly lowered and positioned thru firewall.
Drives fantastic. Zero complaints.

Im sure how the motor is placed as well as suspension will play a role in this, my s52 swapped handled great and I didnt notice it feeling in comparison to my stock e30

with the right suspension and rates it should set the car up properly

I agree. Once you rip the s14 out, the car is not really an e30 M3 anymore. It's just a shell with a swap. I can definitely appreciate them keeping it within the bmw family of engines though and not doing a stupid LS swap.
