Alternative G80 grill

Imran says it'll be carbon fiber and pricing will be comparable to other CF bumpers. Since IND has one for $7700 expect an $8K ballpark.

Someone tell me why this wasn't the original design? There is a solid piece in the middle anyway so it's not like this is restricting the airflow.

It's better of course (what couldn't be), but the lower corners look terrible. We need gaping mouths on the corners like the M8. It's a noble effort, but if I still had my G82 I wouldn't bother with this try.

This is the design, somebody make this and I'll G80 shop again.

I think the grills aren't too bad in person. Maybe an aftermarket carbon fiber insert would look better and people saying, well at least its carbon fiber.

This new design is also not very good. Where are the grille surrounds? It simply looks "wrong". Good designers will maintain both the design language of the current car and the historical examples.

I think the grills in this are too small.

I think this highlights the problem BMW had with the car. If you look at where your crash bar is it limits the size of the grill above it. (Unless you open them up more and expose the crash bar behind the grill which isn’t ideal either)

On the F80 I think the hood stayed higher for longer to allow for more Grillage

Bold move to come up with a new bumper. In theory, this is an awesome option.
Unfortunately, it's merely a "less atrocious" option at best.
To think of all the time and effort spent on this, sad that this is the end result.

spending 10k over Msrp right now and then having to pay 8k for a bumper is absurd.
The hood indents are hideous also and the new bumper is not that great looking either.

If the m340 front end was the g80, I would have one in my driveway right now.

Only looks decent in black bc you can’t see the ugliness as much. But people are proudly rocking lime green g80/g82 with 15ft long front grilles and GTO hoods from the 60’s. Bmw was experimenting and is now laughing right now bc they wanted to see who in the right mind would pay 90k for this. And even worse is people are proudly driving this around as if it’s not an eye sore.

Grill definitely looks better on certain colors and from certain angles.
When they become affordable to me, I'd buy one if I could swing the right colors, wheel/suspension, and aero kit to compliment the aggressive nature of the looks.
