My car is going in on Friday for them to take a look at it. It's going in for the 'run in service' for the new differential that was fitted last month. Have advised them that the rattle has gotten considerably worse, which it has, since the car was last in so fingers crossed they actually hear it this time round.
Not that it's my dealers fault however if a solution can't be found then I will call BMW to discuss with them, driving me mad every time I bloomin drive it haha.

Same for me, I know the car has been test a few times as the fuel has gone down and the mileage gone up. Mine has been in since the 6th of December and was in for nearly 2 weeks before that so I am not far off them having the car for two months..

When I had my M135i a few years back and used the babybmw site, loads used to say they had knocking and noises from their shock absorbers, but only people that had the adaptive dampers, which were an option.
Standard passive suspension was fine! |

It will be 7 weeks then and too be honest they have been shit. I'm not talking about the dealerships but the whole long winded process they have to go through. It's just not good enough. |

This reminds me of when I was waiting for the diff to be replaced.
I had the car 1 month then had it took off me for 9 weeks. But during this time, I had no idea when the diff would be replaced. The dealer or BMW had no clue. Then out of the blue one day the dealer rang up and said it had been replaced and to collect it. Managed to get a couple of months repayments out of BMW FS. But this is different with you guys as you've no idea when - or even if, your cars will be fixed. Really, really poor.

Mine is in today as said previously but when I dropped it off I had the technician come out with me. This time the noise could be identified by the tech and I advised how I didn't want the car back until BMW came up with a solution. Fingers crossed, will keep posted

Just to repeat something I mentioned way back earlier in this thread.
I had a very, very slight knocking problem on my rear right shock since the car was new. It went in for a shock change and its been fine ever since. But whether it is exactly the same issue as you guys I dont know. My point is, it seems they can fix it - well they fixed mine, whatever was wrong with it.

I'd be tweeting BMW and looking at getting contact details of some of the senior figures and firing off a few emails.
The issue is bad enough, but the lack of communication etc seems woefully short of what we should expect for these cars. I had a noise previously and they said they moved the exhaust heat shield - I have to say I haven't noticed it since but with 2 kids in the car most of the time lately i dont i would either. When back on the commute Monday i will be keeping a close eye on it. I have to say with the recent weather, i haven't been impressed with the traction in wet with the current setup - probably more my driving but even when tyres warm it struggles to put the power down in higher gears.
