Non-M cars trying to step to me

What's with these 3 & 4 series trying to drive up and race me. When I semi-engage and slow down (realizing not worth it) they think they won. Is it some sort of inferiority complex?

In 4 years of ownership nobody was racing me and I'm living in California...

I'm wondering if being in Texas has something to do with it. Not many m4's in this area. Maybe they are starstruck and want to race to see what they are made of? I used to live in Cali everyone has F80/F82

This happens all the time. Not just the 3 and 4 series but I have had Audi A3/S3s and base mustang/camaros mess up with me. I just let them be happy lol

Same here. And the Lexus RC-F/IS-F is another owner who always pull up next to me and then speed off. I just give them a wave and upshift. I know they are driving an automatic which can't be as fun as a F80 6spd.

I get that and all the rice beaters too or Mazda's/Fords etc with Pep Boys parts all over. It's annoying. I just don't give them the time of day and you can tell how annoyed they are I don't give a shit about their Honda with decals and fart cans.

I’m not saying to race them but there are a lot of 3series and 4 series making a lot of power out here. This kid in my area has a 800 hp 340 and his whole team walks worked m3 and m4’s. They made it their goal to take out m cars

i stopped racing people on the road when i was 21. im only 28 and drive like a granny except the highway where sometimes I hit triple digits. really only hoon when I have open roads and no traffic

Is it any surprise that non-M 3 and 4 series drivers like M cars and want to check them out or race them to see how they would do? Take it as a compliment and give them a nod or a thumbs up.

Besides how do you know they think they won? I think car enthusiasts are 95% pretty cool overall if you acknowledge them.

I generally don't as well and I am in LA. Some times, a few Subbies here and there revving that Flat Four of theirs or some older uh... "modded" Accords & Civics here and there but mostly thumbs up and smiles. Few times getting gas I have gotten questions and thumbs up too so.

When I had my f30 a guy in my neighborhood had his stock M4. We ran from a dig and I had him quite good until 85-90 which is the top of third for him, which he then proceeded to leave me hard. We both enjoyed ourselves and the f30 surprised the hell out of him. We ran twice.

Ready for the big surprise? It was the n20. E30 map stage 2 with zf8 trans tune and grippy tires.

So, before the mighty fall, the pride comes first. Always know your race and run it. I wouldn’t dare race a tuned s55 in that car but above all, it’s about fun. I don’t care about “stepping” like my genitalia are an extension of my vehicle and vice versa.
