F series key replacment

Hi i have a key question. My F83 only came with one key.

where can I get a new key. I know you cant reprogram the keys and they need to be unprogrammed. Has any one bought a claimed virgin key from ebay and had it work without needing a pro to set it up?

I know if the key is new you just hold it to the steering column once you unlock the car with a working key

Here is one that i found that claims is ben made virgin. But once you loose your virginity there is no going back... lol

Dealer. Walked in with one key for our F30...proof of registration and I.D... paid something like $242.00. (Show a BMWCCA Card)
Expensive but no hassle, no EBay crap, no guess work. FWIW..Parts guy said they are cut in Pennsylvania and I think he said you can request a new FOB 3 times during the life of the car. Key arrived 2 days later, zero issues.

Edit:: it included the valet key too.

Call this number 18885755397. It’s a bmw key purchase number. They will cut and program the key to your vin. It’s sent directly to the dealer, all you have to do it hold it up to your steering column to activate it. I recall it was around 360

Thanks for the info here! My F80 only came with 1 key as well. I feared this would be an $800 hit at the dealer so I didn't bother, glad to see it's less than half that.

Please let us know if the key from the 800 number worked or if you went a different route. I too need another key as I just have one. The dealer told me $480 for a new key plus $100 for coding. And that's with a car dealer discount.

If that is the price of the key with discount then you are getting ripped off.
I work for BMW and with discount it is around $350.00. Key also comes cut and programmed already so the only thing you need to do is sync to your car on the side of the steering column.
But the only way to get a key from the dealer is to be there in person with your ID and Title or registration. All this is for verification. Hope it helps.

Wow. Do you know how much they charge to program one of these? Not 100% sure thats the same FCC id thats in our original keyfobs but i think thats it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-for-BMW...z/154173369381

Or maybe they sell the service and new keyfob together? I see the site has pics of the F series and new keyfob as a service. Im not planning on doing it but maybe in the future. Just wondering if you already knew the price. Thanks.

Check his INstagram or ask him for a quote idk but I'm assuming his price has to be better than a dealership, considering how many people go to him. Never got anything key related done from him he just does a ton of bmw key fobs

Hey remember you made this comment on my thread due to your ignorance? I guess your massive pea size brain didn't help you to figure out a virgin key from eBay wouldn't work. Anyone with a brain would know BMW keys need to be vin coded. But it's ok I do understand you suffer from
