Looking to upgrade turbos soon
So I'm pretty much done with the mods on the car for now from exterior to interior to engine (bolt on's)
The car is running on E30 BM3 tune for about 500-550hp from what people say. I think its about time to look around for some upgraded turbos and probably a crank hub upgrade too. What is the best overall turbo upgrade? Keep in mind its also my daily car. I was thinking PS2 or PS2+ but I wasn't too sure what the difference was if there is any. I would also go with e85 tune to get the most I can out of the engine. Any one have any thought on which turbo is the way to go? Also would I need anything else to keep the car as "reliable" as possible? |

If you CTRL + F "turbo" on the next 3-4 pages of this section, you will find plenty of information of what options are out there, what power you get to, and what supplemental modifications are required. Plenty of info to make you own decision.

Pure High Flow
Pure Stage 2+ the main difference between the 2 is that the high flow maxes out at 5000RPM, the stage 2+ keep making power till redline for that extra 150 HP

Do the $4K hub fix first, or you'll be buying a $10K engine replacement...
Vargas GC is my pick when I do mine. Spools fast as stock with more power. A "plus" turbo (GC+, PS2+) comes in a few RPM later but make more power up high. Cost about $4K not installed, Then to run full E85 on these bigger (reg or +) you will need a 750cc port injection system and probably a Stage4 LPFP. Cost about $3K not installed. The custom tune and dyno time (you know you want it) is another $1K. Do the full hub fix first...4-pin Hub and the CBC on top. Do the full hub fix first... Do the full hub fix first... Did I mention the hub fix first?

I got vargas GC+ and the complete vargas crank hub and CBC.
Any shops near the SoCal area I can take it to? I'd assume doing turbos and hub together should save me some money on the labor side |
