Here it is.
The detail is amazing but I had to shrink the size of the photos for BP. Grand Seiko SBGA407. There isn't an official name because... GS doesn't name their watches so apparently the names Snowflake etc came from owners and the name sticks. Not sure what people nickname the rare blue verison of the Snowflake that I have so... I just call it Blue Snowflake. Think some people call it Skyflake? iuno.

That's what it looked like done by my great great grandfather. And that's before I fix the floor around it, and figure out how to get the black marks off the near ground.

Freaken pain in the ass, then I'm going through a small furniture remodel in my room too. Everything in my room is from my high school days (apart from my table which is a bit newer) and I'm redoing everything with the help of a interior designer/decorator.

My family will fight to death about the real valuables. My tea pots and weird shit I value is like pocket change for them, yet just last week I got a letter from a lawyer stating that a bucket handed over to a local scrap yard owner who promptly delivered it to me since I collect those, was a donation, and not meant to be used again. My uncle handed out a bucket from the 40's with an interesting story and rusty enough for me to love (only for me to love) you a man who collects metal waste here but when he saw him giving it to me and me being happy about it, he thought he needed to have his lawyer send me a note to get it back. Not happening. It is mine,it has a name now, he is Paulina, he is a bit feminine but a Male, and my lawyer is clearly bored since he called my uncle's lawyer to tell him to fuck off personally. I owe beer again. When I bought this house, I swore up and down on stacks of bibles and porn mags that this would not turn into a museum. In ways it's not, but everything you can see or touch has a story and probably a name. Let's take a small example. This is just a toilet. I hadn't even finished the surfaces when I was already putting in a bucket (that's Birgitta btw) and a stool I found from a barn about ten years ago with a weird curbs where you're supposed to lift it. The mirror is my grandmother's dining room set from above her side table which now isin my kid's room as a drawing table. Like my bucket, Birgitta, the mirror has had her ups and downs in life. I bet she never thought she'd end up with a brick layers bucket covered in hand made lace in a bathroom built for boys and a rabbit. It's not that I cant buy new shit or have someone do this all for me, but I prefer stories to just stuff, and I want the stories to be about funny shit, heavy shit and at times the presentation has to be weird. I've said all along that this is my last home. I've spent a year fighting architects and fuctards, I got this house pretty much locked down as a historic site by now which will considerably lower its value but it'll ensure it'll never be torn down. My collection of furniture is mostly things people just have thrown away, without realizing their beauty. There is no wrong way to decorate your own home. It's your space, I'd do what you do if i hadn't collected all this weird shit for 25 years now.

Are you flipping it or like going to live in it once everything is done because haven't you been at this for a few months now? The interior decorator is a friend of my father and someone who worked on two houses for my uncle for sale so I trust her. I wasn't sure what to do about other furniture because all of these house stuff for us came extremely suddenly out of the blue and I had no idea it was going to happen. The only thing I knew about what I wanted to fit into my room was this bed furniture I saw at Crate and Barrel. I loved the furniture but I held off on getting it. However, after our moving furniture all over the place from the floors being redone I realized my current bed frame is just on the way out. So, I just decided to go ahead with the room refurnishing completely and I told her to just build my room clean and around the wooden bed frame I saw (which I had a picture of and sent her). I'm picky but I currently haven't seen what she has in mind yet. Granted of course I can always tell her what I dislike or want to change when she shows me so that isn't a huge deal. You know what I found out? A year and a half ago, I took the 16 personalities test thing and got INFJ. I forgot about that test but screenshot my results. Fast forward until a day ago, I find out INFJ personalities are one of the rarest in the world? 1% for guys, 2% for both genders. Which was oddly comforting since it explained a bit about myself after finally reading up on this. Having answers ftw?

This house is my last home. Even if we move again, this one will not be sold, hell, this basically cant be sold now since I keep informing the historic society and the city's restoration architect about my collection and it considerably brings down the price. I do that for a reason. The city is trying to change this are to be more crowded and by demanding that this house will be preserved, I have a higher probability in protecting the graveyards on my front yard. It's the most beautiful thing on earth: you wake up while living in a city, and you make a cup of coffee and walk around practically naked on your own holy ground, knowing that the land is worth millions if the stupid fucks were allowed to build on it. That's not going to happen. Not on my watch.

1.3 trillion more debt this year during "the greatest economy ever." Wait until the economy inevitably goes into recession and how the orange will "fix it." He'll probably try to have the US declare some sort of bankruptcy like he did so many times for his businesses. Then the burning down of the US will really accelerate. Part of me says let it burn so people stop voting/believing/falling for people like Trump and now a majority of the Republicans. Another cabinet replacement does scare me though. Dan Coates resigning and Trump nomination that blow hard sycophant is a major no bueno. |

yeah. I rarely even comment much on things right now as everything that is happening is awful and was completely foreseeable 3 years ago. what is not foreseeable (To me, anyway) is the path to repair it. even if DJT doesn't win re-election (I think the odds favour him winning), the rot he has exposed in the GOP, the gleeful and barely concealed racism of a substantial part of white America, the braying entertainment-before-substance media, etc, etc, etc. How does it all get fixed? How does this system become one about making a truly better country?

But this was awesome! I am reposting in politics to see where it goes. I don't hate Trump personally. I don't have much respect for him, but I don't hate him. I even like some of what he is doing, and dislike other decisions / statements. I do think he may be a pathological liar though. |

I can only think of the corporate tax reform. But, the rest of that tax bill is a disaster and it is showing in the deficit and increasing wealth gap. And China, I mostly agree with him standing up to them. Ultimately I think they will wait him out. Other than that I honestly can’t think of a thing he has done for the average US citizen. If anything it will end up worse for them with the few big policy/legislation he has gotten through with the Republicans. |

he is absolutely a pathological liar and a racist and a misogynist and an authoritarian and a low-level-IQ individual and a shitty dancer and a cheater at golf and many other things. good point though about hating him. hmm do I hate him? I think he is an absolutely awful human being - literally representing the absolute worst of your country - but do I hate him? I guess he isn't mine to hate. I hate what he is doing to your country - and to the international order that gave humanity its longest and greatest stretch of peace and prosperity in 75 years - but I suppose I don't care enough for him to hate him.

The tax reform was interesting, but I don't think it ultimately will be all that successful. Partially because there doesn't appear to be a corresponding drawback in the spending. So that's a partial like - I think on the surface it is good, but it fails because other necessary things to support it aren't happening. I like how Trump appears to have barred taxpayer funded clinics from referring abortions / Planned Parenthood bit. I'm 100% against abortion, so I like that move. As a ripple effect I think, a number of states have also gotten more restrictive on abortion (or are at least attempting to pass laws to that effect). This gives unborn babies a chance to grow up and have an impact, hopefully positive, on America and the world. I also don't mind his court appointments so far. Right to try legislation seems to be promising also. There are of course things I don't like, particularly his tariffs which don't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me (or at least how he describes them working). They may have the desired effect, but I'm not confident they will. Partially because those American businesses who operate in those industries are just raising their prices instead of figuring out how to be more competitive. And I can't blame them - it is a capitalist society and make hay while the sun shines. They rightly figure this will be short term, so why make substantial investments. |

Yeah, on the hate thing...I just don't really care enough to hate him. Not yet. And as I say, I even support some of his initiatives. I just think he has some serious and deep rooted flaws as a person, but I do separate that from the office he holds and try to look at the two independently. |

To be clear, I truly hate abortion. Nobody likes it, but legislating it out on religious terms is also wrong IMO. Especially when the religion that is outlawing it opposes contraception and pushes mostly/only abstention for birth control. Which, as we can see doesn't work, even within the religious majority that are pushing these concepts/beliefs. Last, when all of these unwanted kids start coming the religious right/Republicans say you shouldn't of gotten pregnant and you are on your own/don't touch my wallet. I see much hypocrisy here. Also, I grew up in a very Lutheran (German) household and went to church quite a bit when younger etc. Nothing and I mean nothing except for the push to ban abortion leads me to see how Christians can follow a man like Trump. The guy seriously has more similarities to how the antichrist is described in the bible. He embodies the exact opposite of Jesus's core teachings. Which, I'm always amused when it seems like US Christians think Jesus and God for that matter are US citizens or on the US's side? |
