Akrapovic or Fi? Or Should I go MPE

Hi guys,

I'm getting my M4 dilevered hopefully by the end of the week. Excited and I am about to order an exhaust system and stuck between the three choices I have in mind.

1. Fi Exhaust

2. Akra

3. M Performance exhaust

If anyone on the forum got any of the three or heard them in real life please share with us your thoughts.

-Which sounds the best?
-How are they on comfort/efficient? Can they be as quiet as stock?
-Which sounds best IRL on sport mode/valves open.
- Is anyone facing any issues with any of them?

MPE has the best tone. Akra is loud, but just noisy. Maybe in person is totally different.

Just keep in mind, I think that MPE was with downpipes.

That Akra sound clip had catless down pipes.
That is something to keep in mind.
Are you just replacing the rear muffler alone ? Replacing center section and replacing catalytic convertors ?
It is nice we have a lot of options but have some decision's to be made

Akra without Downpipes. That FI exhaust sounds terrible.

Heard the MPE in person and it is one of the best noises I have ever heard from a straight 6. It is godly with an amazing exotic tone to it. Nothing else is like it

Well if I go Akra, prolly go for full Akra Evo system excluding Downpipe for the starts. eventually DPs a few months later.

Problem is with MPE vs Akra, I live in Dubai, AE and BMW dealer sells MPE for 6500$ more or less. Which means fairly same cost of Akra Evo system. If it was for just 4600 same as US store prices would be a bargain.

My initial reaction to the super buzzy, raspy sound the S55 makes with downpipes and some aftermarket exhausts is, rice.

Did you hear it on a 'consumer' car, or the MotoGP one?

I haven't watched the MotoGP clip of the MPE in a while, but hearing it now, I think it sounds great. Compared to the Akra in this vid, I much prefer the MPE. Maybe MPE with DP's is the best sound for this car...

It's technically not "rice" when our cars are actually fast. If your definition is true to our cars, then those GT3 are technically rice as well. They also got loud race exhaust, big wings, and stickers all over. (No stickers unless they're real sponsors, please)

Our exhaust sounds really good in real life no matter which brand you go with. I would save the money and just get DPs + JB4. Stock exhaust sounds great with DPs in sport mode/valve mod.

It wasn't the GP car, just a local M4 owner. He might get downpipes eventually but it is already very loud in a good way

+1 catbacks have less power increase benefits than the JB4/DP combo best bang for your buck.

BTW check the new TPG street exhaust. That what I'm considering switching to

You have no idea what you're talking about:
First insinuating that everyone wants "big wing blahblah..."
Then in your estimation that the car sounds "rice"....

I say wrong on both counts as I don't want all that F&F crap unless it's funtional and the exhaust is producing a sound that's pleasing on a highly rated sports car.....that does not in any way represent rice.

Rice is what you do to a car like a Toyota Corolla, add some canards, a wing, and an exhaust meanwhile you're still only pushing 128hp and 0-6 in 8 seconds, plus fail wheel drive, that's "rice". But if you believe you're M3 is rice then by all means, rice away.

Of the choices I would go Akrapovic > MPE > FI. FI does not sound that good in person. Loud but not refined at all
