Vargas gc / gc+ owners

Anybody with vargas turbos could chime in

How are the turbos holding up ?

How long have the been installed in your car ?

If you switched to another company ( PURES / KRATOS ) why? Did you gain more power ?

TIA

GC and GC+ have been very reliable on S55 platform. We now have FIVE (5) stock motor cars in the 9's on GC's and GC+'s (I believe 4 reg GC and 1 GC+) while no other vendors have a single one there with us. If you find and put a bigger turbo on you may make more power on a sheet of paper but... is the car actually performing any better? GC's are an unmatched value. Drive them hard, make yours the 6th stock motor in the 9's.

I just had a set of GC's installed few weeks ago . I'm still custom tuning. Very happy with the results. When I'm done I'll post a dyno and draggy times. Both pump gas and meth .

I got mine also. Finished tuning with Paul. But now it’s raining. Car pulls like a freight train. I’m on 93 pump. Hoping for anything over 600whp.

GC+ has my full recommendation. Speaking purely of performance, they are by far the best bang for the buck turbos available for the S55 at the moment. Quite possibly the most underrated/overlooked turbo option on this platform.

I did the GC. I want the faster spool. And you can still make over 700whp with meth. I don’t need any more than that. Mine is DCT so beefing up the trans is too much money for me.

GC+ pump daily here. Dialing in tune with Jordan. The OTS 2H maps are surprisingly good..... Jordans better but still dialing in front side. I have some specific goals and wanted flat torque curve and great top end on pump. So far looking very good.

My 100 to 200 km/h with the 2H map and the GC+ was a flat 6 seconds (1500 m above sea level)… wasn't pump though but E30 without meth.
First revision custom file was 5.5 seconds....(with meth injection as additional fueling)

I start in 3rd . I shifted early too maybe 6500 rpm. Honestly these turbos are incredible. My snow performance stage 2.5 kit just came in today. I'm hoping to be low 5's. I don't intend to run any Exx fuel

The regular GC would hit My horsepower goals. I have no intention to build my motor or do clutch packs if I don't have to. Between 600-700whp was my goal. After many discussions with Chris and Tony . We decided the GC was more than enough .

That's the best HP range for a daily driver in my opinion

I had the same thought process and the GC spool faster than the GC+.

Yes, we also had a full build car with forged internals, dodson clutchs, fuel it stg4 and makes 802whp dynojet with regular GC at 33psi
