Alright feight, now i'm thinking breitling navitimer. Honestly I never liked them, always thought they were kinda ridiculous until I realized that's an actual gawddamned slide rule on the fucking dial! A GMT chrono with the date and a fucking sliderule??? Now there's a smart watch! Ever since I realized that I kinda can't forget about it ...

So what's your two cents on the Navitimer?

Either way, watch Archie through his answer to this guy - it gets good around 5m, that dude is hilarious haggle like a BITCH!

Sorry for slow response, I've been.... you know living.

Anyway - yeah the Navitimer is an amazing and iconic watch. You absolutely can't go wrong with that. For me personally I've always found it a little busy and "so much going on" especially since it's also so big. My test is - I want to be able to see the actual fucking time quickly and without too much distraction. The Navi always failed that test for me but obviously that's entirely personal and your mileage may vary.

Actually my "new" favorite watch is my old Omega Moonwatch on a brown leather "Weiss Watch" strap. Not even close to being my most expensive watch but I'm totally loving it. It doesn't have the "every sport watch you ever see" steel bracket anymore - and it's a nicer look than a NATO.

Re Archie, I do find him funny generally (but sometimes just obnoxious). However his recos are always the same. It comes down to "Rollllexxxxx, Rolex". Or "MAN ON THE FUCKING MOON"

Anyway, here's my Man on the fucking moon.

It’s like we predicted it would when they announced they were leaving a couple of years ago.

Seriously though, has there been a bigger more idiotic self inflicted damaging move in modern times? I feel bad for a lot of people in the UK right now.

Electing trump comes to mind but that boil isn't ready to pop just yet.

I'm going to do a massive, dear diary post later. I have to go find a liqueur store first, I'm going to need a pint of wine before I dive in to the last two days, well, weeks here.

Unfortunately the US is full of a bunch of fascists on one side, and a bunch of appeasers on the other (but chuck and nancy are holding strong!).

If Europe taught us one thing, it's that appeasement never works with fascists; LONG LIVE THE SHUTDOWN! (maybe this is the only way people will actually understand what government does)

And perhaps also importantly....what the government doesn't do. And how a smaller government might just be a good thing and would actually be quite manageable.

Agreed.

You know, I often miss that post where I asked "Well God bad it could be with trump in the office" and Myz kinda predicted this all. He had such a stellar answer. The old ssott was something else.

On another note, I've been feeling annoyed lately and I'm not too sure what I'm going to do about it.

There is an individual who worked at a firm I bought out (sole practitioner with one employee). The employee and I were both offered a chance to buy 50% of the practice each. He declined, so I bought 100% and he left.

Because he worked there for 6+ years (and I only worked there one year) he had a much better relationship with the clients, so he started competing and contacting them. Because he doesn't have an office or any overhead really, there is no way I can match him on price, and I've lost about $40K of annually recurring work to him so far.

I was protected for that loss as an adjustment to the purchase price because I was worried about that, but it is still quite annoying. And we got his wrist slapped a little by our professional body, but basically they did nothing. And after being silent for about 5 months, he just won over another small client last week...and I'm concerned there is going to be another flurry.

I admit part of me wants to offer the service at a loss just for a year or two to try to win them back and destroy him, but at the same time, I don't think the clients that I would get from this would remain loyal (because they wouldn't be that type...like a cheater), and perhaps more importantly, I know this guy's situation...he has a kid and his wife doesn't make too much money and I don't want to hurt his family financially and my wife has a very good job and we are doing ok financially, plus I've won a bunch of brand new work that probably offsets more than half what he took.

I guess the way I see it is if I were to do the above, I would potentially hurt his family and his son and it wouldn't be very Christ like of me to do so, and I am trying to consciously live that way (when I remember to think before I act anyways).

At the same time, turning the other cheek and taking it is a hard thing for my nature...which I know that just because it isn't my nature doesn't make it justified, but I admit it will be a struggle.

While it is just poor form on his part, I think after typing this out and considering it, the best thing for me to do is let it go for now. If it continues, I think I may have no choice but to react, because I can't let him decimate the practice after I paid for it.

If he's poaching your clients, you have every right to try and poach them back, and remain competitive and take care of your business and your family.

minn19 I wish Benz transmissions are better... even their C43 9-speed isn't super smooth like a ZF8. If I am going to drive a freaken auto it better not jerk my head around or I can feel the tranny doing things.

Yes I drove the 2019 C43. Ehhhh. Great interior though, crappy steering stock crap.

Every MB I’ve ever driven, I’ve walked away unimpressed. But, I have never driven an AMG so I’m holding out hope that those are considerably better like M cars are over regular BMWs.

I wanted to get my hands on the C63s actually but all they had are coupes and I got tired of the long doors.

Technically I think I could have and I should have just done it but yeah... Maybe I can just do the coupe and get a feel of the C63 for real this time.

I was at the dealership with my uncle since he is interested in the new AMG G63 G Wagons but apparently those new wagons been held in port for months now for some reason that Benz isn't specifying (I'm looking on the Benz forums hehe).

A company that small taking on clients at a loss? That doesn't sound wise.

Jokers, fuck him and the horse he rode on. You'll find steady clients with an appreciation for quality and he can rot in the jail all hamsters like him play themselves in the end.

Thanks...sometimes I just need a little re-affirmation. Thing is about this guy, my understanding is that he was basically on a park bench just knocking on doors for work, wasn't a CPA or anything, and the owner I bought the practice from took him in, trained him and kicked his butt to get his CPA (he had failed a few times I believe) and got him to where he was.

Then he turns around and stabs the owner in the back because every client he poaches reduces the amount I pay the owner I bought the clients from. Just really poor form and speaks to him as a person in my opinion. Which really annoys me.

But I agree, I can't really take on loss leading clients...then how do I justify price increases to get them back up to an acceptable level. Perhaps if I hire a full time assistant and train him/her well, I'll be able to offer a reduced rate and still be profitable if I can get the assistant to do most of the grunt work...but that's at least 9 months away and maybe longer if I lose a bunch more clients.

Thanks though...I know there is a divine plan here, and while it doesn't seem all that good to me right now, I know it will be in the end.

Ready for an educational story by Lups? No, well stop reading.

*EHEM*

years ago, in a Finnish paper there was a column that was filled with seriously reported global news. It took years of training back in those days, before the column became popular to find the real reason it was reported.

Now, one day, the last story of the column was basically this.

".... (can't remember the first parts, I'm old)... the suspect is now out on bail.

A man was was admitted to a hospital after his significant other released a hamster to his rectum, and when they tried to get the pet out, something went wrong and some burn damage was inflicted. The couple will face charges on animal cruelty if the hamster or remains can' be found"

Now...

As bad as your life gets, you will never be the pr person telling that a fart made a hamster into an ammo while in a rectum.

So your motto should be" this feels fucked up, yes, it does but I ain't on a podium talking about a hamster canon. "

At least no guinea pigs were involved......

As radically strange as that Lups-ism turned out to be, I understood every bit of it

Prez Kerr, good excuse to hang out in the park, looking for "interns"

I do my best to cheer him up and you didn't love my furry story!

Anyway...

I've had an incredible week that involves Russian mafia , destroyed tyres, one freaky and dead uncle, once scared aunt, a foot long dildo, me bleaching my eyes and of course: a mouse.

Just let me know when you're ready to hear the latest entry in the life of Lups.
