I just did a 2900 mile round trip from Austin to Arizona and California for the holidays and my Uniden R3 saved my several times. Really great long range alerts with plenty of advanced notice. Not the most expensive unit but really impressed with the bang for the buck!

Valentines used to be the goat - they're still really good and if you have one there's no point of replacing it but for anyone considering it: get a Uniden R7 and don't look back.

Been running a R7 and Waze for the past year in CA. Both together are great.

I run mine just slightly above the mirror on the drivers side. Still more-or-less invisible from outside (especially at speed), and because i hid the cable under the trim, there’s nothing hanging down. I should probably get a mirror tap, but eh, maybe next year if the wire situation bugs me.
I’ll try to remember to take a photo next time I’m outside, but it’s 9 degrees right now, and my M4 is under a cover. |

OK, I got this thing and it's quite obvious the suction cups stink. I've got a trip to take tomorrow I need a decent way to mount this thing so that it's not falling off every five seconds. I'm thinking of simply Velcroing it to the top of my M4 instrument cluster in my direct line of sight. I see what looks like venting on the bottom, so I presume I need to Velcro behind that. Any other thoughts as to a temporary fix until I can find a mount?

I am using it that way currently, before I can order the Blend-mount is in stock. Another option can be double-sided tapes which will be easy to take off once you have the mount. Velcros usually have adhesive which is harder to take off and leaves residue.

Been running a Uniden R3 hardwired with blend mount for a while now and its worked well. In retrospect would have been nice to have the direction detection of the R7

I have three V1gen2s. Really happy with them. I run that and Waze, although the V1>>>>>Waze in terms of usefulness

Just want to share since it just got posted on Slickdeals, the Uniden R3 is on sale for $260 if anyone is interested.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0743H6CSN...f_=as_li_ss_tl I have one and paid ~$340 IIRC about 2 years ago, I've contemplated getting the R7 for the directional arrows but this does what it's supposed to.
