Just saw this posted on social media and realized this is one of our own astris ! Such a sick car man...I'm really temped to go down this road with the car I told myself I was going to keep more simple than my E46 lol. It really does seem like the sweet spot! That bottom end spool is way quicker than PS2!

Video and all the info in the post here:

thanks for posting Commanderwiggin ! my goal from the beginning was to make 700whp/650wtq without the "extras" and the Bend crew nailed it. the level of knowledge, attention to detail, response time, etc. has been incredible.

also shout out to BimtechPNW here in Seattle for all their work putting the car together.

even with all the mods that touched nearly every aspect of the car and the tuning for them, this was probably the smoothest build i've ever been involved with. biggest issue along way was one airbox clamp came loose! other that, it's been flawless.

oh and one other data point that i don't think is in the post, but Bend shared with me. some very interesting top mount intercooler data from dyno logs:

Customer car: "Other brand" TMIC, PS2+, 5th Gear Dyno Pull - 23'C temp increase
My car: Wagner TMIC, Mosselman turbos, 5th Gear Dyno Pull - 3'C temp increase

This is such a key piece of information. It makes me glad I went with a Wagner Intercooler as well from their recommendations and it's been flawless!

I just bought a new daily and went with a Wagner and I am glad I did. It's SO nice. I'm not surprised it performs just as well as it looks.

:thumbs-up:

They take their time on product development and testing, and it shows.

Not to deter from a great setup and outcome however with the below you can't really say "without the extras"

- Dorch Lift Kit
- Precision Raceworks Stage 3 LPFP
- Flex Fuel Kit

I think "without the extras" was in reference to extra non-factory fueling i.e. port injection. Port injection is indeed a big "extra", so the fact that these figures can be achieved without modifying the fuel injection paradigm is significant.

Love seeing this. I ordered a set of the Mosselman units myself and waiting a few more weeks for them to get in. My setup will essentially mirror this, so looking forward to it!

I purchased my turbos direct from Mosselman. From the time I placed my order it took 3 days total to receive them from the Netherlands to my door in Seattle. 👍

Loving those figures! Car must feel amazing!!

Quick question regarding the torque. I hear a lot about torque limits on the stock rods, especially in the lower RPM range. With this setup reaching 600wtq at 3K, is that considered on the edge?

I notice most tuners purposely keep torque in check during lower RPMs and then ramp it up as they increase. I suppose I’m curious as to what RPM this safety threshold is in.

even with all the mods that touched nearly every aspect of the car and the tuning for them, this was probably the smoothest build i've ever been involved with. biggest issue along way was one airbox clamp came loose! other that, it's been flawless.

Are you running catless downpipes?
