F80 VRSF VS AA VS ER Catless Downpipes

Hey guys,

F80 M3 is finally out of warranty. Time to start messing around. I tuned it with BM3 and am looking for a catless downpipe now. It has the full MPE, and I've been lost in the sauce for which downpipe to get. I love the current sound but wouldn't mind it a louder. They have very different prices, and does the bend in the AA actually do anything.

VSRF:

AA:

ER:

I also don't know whether getting the Thermal Coating is a good idea. All advice is appreciated!

I am looking for any of the three used while I get some advice as to which to get.

I have the VSRF downpipes build quailty was good for the price however any heat coating would be a huge upgrade, but personally the only one I'd recommend would be Swain tech. I had my e36 M3 turbo exhaust manifold coated with their white lightning and it made a significant difference to heat transfer.

May I suggest taking a look at our downpipes. We have 3 versions on sale currently and ready to ship.

3'' https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-s55-downpipes-m2c-m3-m4/

3.5'' https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-s55-3-5-f...-flex-section/

Race Catted- https://mad-us.com/mad-bmw-s55-catte...-flex-section/

I wouldn't worry about coating them unless you plan on tracking the vehicle heavily.

The downpipe you linked from our website is catted; we do not offer catless downpipes.

Start by picking a proven brand for guaranteed fitment and no leak.

Then consider the quality.

The most significant difference between ER and the rest is that ER is the only hand built in the US. Their quality is second to none.

There are less expensive brands like MAD, where you can still get a high-quality finish for a much lower price.

It comes down to personal preference and budget.

Once installed, all the proven brands will perform the same.

Hello! I completely forgot about mad, I apologize. What is the difference between 3 and 3.5 in real world terms, I don’t really know the difference. Thank you for the advice.

The 3.5'' was designed for high hp and big turbo applications in mind. Our 3 inch will be enough flow for most people.

Just a heads up our sale does end tomorrow
