Yep, I was never a fan but seeing it in action in black change things. I don't think I'd go out of my way to buy one, but if in the market I'd certainly look into one with the carbon buckets. I'd also have to wait at least a year as I learned my lesson buying that brand new G82, I hate stock cars and love to tinker, and it takes the market at least a year to come up with decent parts.

Real curious to see what these things go for out the gate and if dealers do ridiculous markups on them. With the buckets these are like $70k MAX cars for me, anything more than that is ridiculous.

How is it better grip? It is really just parts from manual m4 with same weight
Here is the review saying its not all that

Of course it's not all about the grip. Engine and Suspension tune are different. I owned a G80 for 9 months. I added 70 hp and 70 lb/ft torque with a piggyback. The transmission could not handle the extra torque. There is reason why they limit the torque for MT at 406 lb/ft. I don't really rely on reviews and always drive the car first before buying. I can tell you that the MT will feel the same as the F8X and G8X. The flywheel was reinforced from F to G series. The shifter felt a little bit better but still imprecise and rubbery. No real improvement and you will need CDV delete, UCP and SSK. I hope that I can test drive one next week. I was offered an HEA car for $5k over

I don’t think many will be under $70k and prices will be continuing to increase - have you seen what Porsche did with prices for 2024 911s and Caymans.

I think BMW will continue to limit production on M2 like they did with F87 and not have as many compared to G8x cars.

I think they will sell very well as the styling is not as controversial. Its also a car that really has no competition especially if you want a manual in a sporty coupe with useable trunk and back seats.

Even new Mustang Dark Horse is now over $70k.

Same for me. I wanted bucket seats on my G80 and might have kept it. I got the first set of 963M, MSS HAS kit and regret buying first. Also had a prototype planned with UCP and Auto Solutions SSK but because of Covid, they all got delayed. Don't expect any good fitment within a year of launch

I considered those before ultimately opting for the Pole Positions. Like you said, there aren't many reviews and they're hard to find. FVD caries them at $5000 each plus shipping but they're FIA, not ABE so I'm not sure if they're US compatible. 13 lbs and definitely look the part but again, getting access to them for seat time is a must for that price.

From what I have read, it is the only bucket seat both ABE/FIA compatible. I know Studio RSR just installed a set recently. I want to sit in them before ordering. I contacted a few retailers and the wait is 6-12 months. One wholesaler ordered the seats back in 2020 still no shipment. There are a few sets for sale on EBay from EU.

IMO literally nothing they said in this review contradicts the facts we know about G Chassis cars:

1. More refined? Check
2. More turbo lag and power at the top? Check
3. More dialed in suspension? Check

Turns out people want the M2 to be a little wild? Wow didn't see that one coming...

lol Apparently Throttle House was warned by BMW not to be so negative about styling. SO, THAT is where BMW has gotten to these days huh? Holy crap I thought I would never see the day.

Delete the second resonator and first cat and that will sound pretty good. DP and exhaust catback were expensive for not that much better sound.

I like how they always seem to be honest as they are cars guys first. Cars guys know their history and have certain expectations depending on the manufacturer.

the 19-page thread where forum members are criticising & arguing what social media personas had to say about a car these forum fellows have yet to drive is the reason why I can't be bothered to talk cars on the Internet anymore.

common sense goes out of the window in these situations.

a) most first-drive reviews on big media launches are copy & paste.

b) the car is a well-known recipe; we know the stats so can't be surprised at the outcome either. so why the pitchforks every time...

They can't be the only ones warned. This is the third recent M design that has gotten overtly negative feedback by media(M3/M4, XM, and now M2).

BMW is lucky their vehicles drive well and have other redeeming attributes.

Nothing about this surprise me in the slightest.

Brand loyalty is a hell of a drug, ask me how I know 😂

If you could see why people are like they are, you can usually follow the money for answers.

Everything they say in the video we know.

Personally M was never supposed to be “refined” either. It’s supposed to trigger the hooligan within and be wild, exciting.
None of these new cars are, and if I wanted a stable executive sedan I’d drive an Audi, not a BMW.
Speaking of Audi, I drove a new S6 and THAT is amazing.
They honestly could’ve given it the RS badge and I’d buy into it, unlike these pseudo M cars.

By the way, the BMW badge is at the top of a penis shaped bumper. Spread the word. Thanks 🙏

If audi brought back manuals in the US it would be a game changer. I don’t think ppl would even care about engines being positioned ahead of the strut towers.

They couldn't be bothered to hire the right designers so they decided to bash on the reviewers who do not fit their agenda. Fascism is strong here.
