2015 BMW F80 - Engine Whining
Hello everyone!
My 2015 BMW m3 with 50k started making some engine whining noise. It completely stops whining when I open engine oil cap. I am out of warranty and BMW is asking 2k for the repair. I have seen on here other cars that have had the same issue at around the same mileage. Has anyone done the repair themselves? If so would you recommend doing this or is it better to just pay the 2k for the fix? really not in a position to spend that money right now but would really like my car fixed... I have read several places it is the PCV Valve, but does the entire thing need to be replaced or only the seals? If anyone has done the repair before (at home or at BMW) would you happen to have part list? Some advice would be really useful on this, thanks!! |

If u have the tools for it. It’s going to take some time . Removing intercooler, removing hardline of injectors , maybe removing spark plugs n coil packs. A lot of videos of n54 engines and some videos of s55. But yeh bmw mechanics would do this. Happens a lot to n54 engines already. Heard sum replace the whole head cover how ever u call it. Some clean out the gaskets surrounding it.
