Kids, sort of. I take my daughter to school in the CS. I live in San Francisco and cup2’s plus the shit roads hasn’t been an enjoyable combo. I have a full track e92 M3, so I want a bit more comfort in my backup car.

The F90 isn’t plush, but it’s noticeably softer. I also wanted AWD.

I wanted to tune the CS to make it faster but it already lights up 2nd. M5 will lay it down. Carbahn stage 1 power package is like $5k, warrantied and puts down 666whp on pump.

It’s always hard to let an M car go, I did that with my E36 and still regret it.

The M5 CS was the answer to your question. 😜

But, honestly, I miss my ‘18 M3 CS. Was such a fun car. I just couldn’t get onboard with this new one. Whoever had the #2 spot must have been excited when I passed.

My EDC is coded out - I used bimmer-remote (Kubax):

https://bimmer-remote.com/products/e...or-f80-f82-f83

What coils are you looking to run?

I’m just start looking now.
So far MCS TT1 Single Adjustable Monotube Dampers,
I use my car as daily, but don’t drive far or see the freeway much, so I like my car to be stiffer so I don’t mind coil over with stiffer springs rate, try to set the car up for track use too eventually

You just code it out. Barry at 3DM who sells the Ohlins, said they don’t sell any cancellation kits because it’s so easy to code you. You even seen the suspension setting removed from the dash (comfort, sport, sport+)

As long as you're okay with a generally stiffer daily setup since the MCS and other options below are some pretty serious hardware. That said, in my case, the ride is stiffer than stock but less harsh, damps out rough stuff really well.

In that price category (~$4-5k), your options are:

MCS 1WNR
KW CS 2W (These came on the M4 GTS)
Bilstein CS (Slept on, great no-nonsense setup - my buddy runs it)
3DM Ohlins RT (slcook54 ran these and can probably give you feedback on them)

MCS doesn't price an all inclusive kit, so while the dampers themselves are $3k, you need to buy springs, perches, camber plates, hardware, etc. on top - so roughly another $1.5k which puts the total cost in line with some fully inclusive 2W setups. I bought my MCS setup from Bimmerworld and Phil + Wyatt there were very helpful in putting together a kit based on my usage (daily driver w/ terrible road conditions that does 10+ track events a year).

Like all others have said, code it out, M1/2 buttons will work and the suspension indicator on dash will disappear way cheaper than EDC kits. I have a set of JRZ RS2 and love them, I've always been a KW fan but I wanted to try something different and it's a quality kit .

I don't think coding EDC changes anything. It's like the equivalent of coding out seat belt chimes, there is no tuning associated with it. I believe these are different modules entirely.

Also, my pro move is to register in Montana. I'm in San Francisco.

The EDC coding should have zero effect on emissions, OEM DP, mid-pipes removal, CAI and tunes do.

Had a beautiful late model E63 S pull up behind me on the highway today, saw him get a big slow down to check out the CS before he passed slowly. We wound up taking the same exit with him a few cars ahead and he slowed down to let me catch up so we could talk. Yet another car enthusiast who thought the FDB2 paint was a wrap (still running around 9/10 people think it's wrap)! Anyway he couldn't have more nice words to say about the car, said it was absolutely beautiful and just stood out on the road like he couldn't believe. I of course returned the compliments as his black E63 S was beautiful too, it had XPEL wrap on it so looked matte as well.

Really nice guy and cool to get some love from the MB AMG crowd!

And after you guys spend all that money and time trying to make it better than the BMW M engineers and factory drivers did it won’t be. BMW nailed the CS suspension setting’s. The chassis, E-diff, bushings (or lack of in the CS), springs, and MDM are all tuned to work perfectly together on track and supple on street. Unless your a track rat pro driver and suspension tuning expert I suggest to leave the CS alone.

Well, fck me I came across this thread. CS sounds so much more fun than my upcoming G87 6MT order. How do the brakes hold up?
