2016 M3 ^MT
Hi everyone a local BMW dealer has 2016 6MT with 45k miles for around 50k. Does that seem like an ok deal? I have been trying to find one for under 50k but all have much higher miles. I inquired about it and they are sending me the service records. Thanks.

Some more detail would probably be helpful.
Owners? Damage? Options? Mods? Condition? |

Still waiting on the Carfax not really sure what options are available on it and no aftermarket mods that I can tell. It’s completely stock but apparently has a BMW M sport exhaust, Not sure if that was an option or not. Looks really clean.

imo i wouldn't pay more than 45k but the market is still all over the place. 50k is fair. At this point if it checks out buy and enjoy it.
Finding good deals is hard to do nowadays and life is short. Last edited by evoix; 03-29-2023 at 09:33 AM.. |

I completely agree with this. In this market you have two choices unless you want to be agonizing for months: compromise on the spec or compromise on the price.
FWIW assuming a clean car with decent options that price is fair. If you have the VIN just plug it into this site and you will get the options list: https://www.mdecoder.com/ Just note that some options like the carbon fiber mirror caps or MPE don't always show up there. |

Its still hard to believe what has happened with used car prices, many thought 2023 would normalize but last I read is they will remain or go even higher to what they were in Q4 2022 after they had come down a bit from COVID highs.
In 2019 my 16 M4 vert 6mt w/ 37k miles with the same options posted was $42k. In 2022 I traded it at $37k for 18 M4 vert dct comp w/ 17k miles loaded individual for $62k. 4yrs ago you could of gotten that same OP M3 with less miles for under $50k, unfortunately it probably won't be any cheaper in the next 12-18 months, without the BS the last 3 years its a $30k car. I'd rather spend 10-15k more and get a 18/19 comp 6mt for $60-65k.

I mean, market today should be considered to be "normal". Everything has gone up since covid due to inflation. If you want pre covid price you gonna have to wait couple more years for a higher mileage car. Just like Burger King and McDonald meal ain't going back to pre covid price, nothing is cheap anymore.

I paid 50k for my 2017 with 50.000 miles the 6MT are much less plentiful so your selection is alot smaller if i was buying a dct car I would of wanted a better deal.
also the G80 M3 is not everyone's cup of tea and E92 M3. E46M3 and E36 M3's are thru the roof for good ones and with the future of cars propulsion murky M cars are gonna hold there value a lot better than the past If the next generations ends up like the C63 they are gonna be worth even more

Yeah I'm thinking the same. I think with the M-Performance exhaust and suspension it may not be a bad deal, Have to think about it overnight. They want a $2500 non refundable to hold it which is not going to happen.

I sunk 60k on a 32k miles M3 comp 6MT. The only option was Comp package, but it was exactly what I wanted. Cloth seats, a manual transmission, no driving assistance, and YMB which is my favorite. All in all, totally worth it and love the car so much.

Sunk $51K on a 2016 6MT last May. Top 3 car for me at this point. No regrets with the purchase.
I would advise you check out the rear diff bushing. Don’t take anyone’s word, get it up on a lift and make sure there are no cracks. BMW upgraded the part a couple of yrs later. It’s a big job ($$$$) to replace as they are press fitted and the subframe needs to be dropped to replace. Make sure it’s got a good inspection. Enjoy. Sounds like a great machine and your gonna love the mod pity.
