I don't understand how a car the op isn't used to driving could ever be safer.familiarity is a huge safety feature.

I'm trying to make myself sell Peter today but it seems I may have to actually ship him to Finland since my kids hate my guts for this. I've never seen kids cry over a car this much.
Tough choices! But really you prefer the Q7 over the X5M after everything you said?
I only read about these cars and Q7 probably better in space only?
The X5M will look at home next to Peter.

You know why you're on meds with the Q. There is nothing lovable in it. X5M has its moments.

You should not have said this. Quick! Erase it before you get crucified!

OK, I just have to ask... Did you have enough blankets to perhaps swaddle your wife and carry her on your back to the hospital - assuming of course, that you could have also carried a warm beverage and all the necessary survival gear. I am going to just keep trying until I come up with something "safer" than your car, which has a very high safety rating from IIHS, by the way...

Wait, are there enough dogs in your neighborhood to have maybe formed an ad hoc sled team? (OK, I will stop - forever - on this topic. You sound like a helluva father and husband to my ears. Enjoy your family, enjoy your M3...)

Edit: You are a also a saint for having patiently answered all those questions.
You had me at ad hoc dogsled team.

I really envy you you guys! You only have to decide to sell or not.
This is why my only M fix is my recent M driving experience.

Source from Dec 2015 Torque Mag. Over here, a M4 would cost USD250K (base model) at current exchange rate. This is not latest as every two weeks pricing changes due to bidding for limited COE (certificate of entitlement) to drive the car for 10yrs. Car control measures in a small island.

Sorry for OT.

please, I'm a Finn. I'm selling mine today so I won't have to pay 40k in taxes to import it for a few months.

These are ridiculously cheap here, no way would I consider any of these in Finland.

Yup, in three days, but I'm willing to bet I'll be back. Just not in WA ever again.

I'll be too bitter to read the main forum for a bit but I doubt I can leave ssott. Find the unofficial and extremely secret off topic we have.

Congrats! And it's great to read how capable the M can be, properly equipped, in horrendous winter weather.

A very useful post (with a great ending), thank you!
