Love it. Not one single regret at all. It does grab a lot of attention but it is What it is.

Plus it goes very well with CF.

I see you were at Jake Sweeney's in Cinci … i bought a 330i and an M3 there in the late 2000's … great dealership!

It looked like a nice dealer and they had a ton of cars. Although interestingly, I stood and looked hard at $75k cars for a good 20min and not a single person came out to see if I needed help. And when I went into go to the bathroom and I asked someone if they had any other M's, the guy said he was the Preowned guy and yelled over one of the sales guys saying that I had some questions about M's to which the sales guy told the preowned guy that he could go ahead and help me. I really overall was happy that no one tried to come help me as I was just there to see the color of the SO and YMB M's they had, but it surprised me that no one tried to see if I had the slightest bit of interest in buying one.

I know at least one guy who told me he was going to sell his YAS and get another blue color. The guy probably owned the car for a couple of months and already wishing to sell it.
I myself had a blue car once. Loved it at first sight, hated it after a year or so.
It really depends on how many cars you have, how often you drive YAS, and perhaps most important how long you plan on keeping it?
If leasing, get what you want. If buying and keeping it long especially as the DD, I would get a classic color - grey, black, white, silver.
But if you are kind of a fashion guy or just don't care, get what you want. Though OP is not this guy hence the thread.
Gray, black, white and silver are so boring. I drive my YMB daily, and I love every minute of it. I also drove my Interlagos Blue, Phoenix Yellow and Topaz Blue cars daily too. My white and black BMW's I liked the least. M cars deserve to pop.

i definitely like the color, but owning it in real world situations did get a bit annoying. sometimes you just want to blend in.

I sold mine ( not because of the YMB) but i wouldn't order it again. That being said. it does make the m3 much more exotic where AW/ SS blend in more

I like the darker tones of the color (I've only seen it in overcast weather), but wonder about the lighter pastel side. Do any of you have the thought that you have this super cool, manly, powerful, iconic (relatively so) sports car, but have it in an un-manly (dare I say girly?) pastel blue color, or it does it not really feel that way?

I'm between YMB and SO, but don't really like the darker rust tones of the SO. Just finally got to see them both in person a few days ago.

Just saw SO today at the dealer today and I didn't like it at all...color didn't look right on a F80.

I've seen YMB in different light settings. When the sun is high and no over cast the color is too pastel for my taste. But overcast and at night I love the look. I've seen a few at Jake Sweeney and on the road. I bought my Alpine White from them.

Definitely, and secure in your manhood as well. A Mexico Blue GT3 rolled up next to me once and gave me the (...the colors are very similar). He obviously had taste too.

I don't know if it's me but the F82/F80 seems played out in the Blue,White,Black,Sliver,Grey Color way.

I'd go all out with an Individual at this point in time. Even though I love the Blue color way and the White on red color way. It's played out in the sense that I see 5-6 of them in the same color when I go to a car meet.

*Personally i'd hate to own a car like a M/// and have something that the other "joe" has.
Individual all the way!

Sure, I'd love to get one of the individual colors, but that adds another $5k and the car already isn't exactly cheap. I'm determined to get at least one of the M specific colors. Around Ohio I'm hardly likely to see another M4 period let alone one that is the same color.

I hear you and agree that M Specific colors are the way to spec your M3/M4 but here in NYC honestly and I know the amount of people we have in this state but god dam I see the YAS Blue everywhere and I mean everywhere. (I love the color still)

I know we're getting OT here... I could see that in wealthier NY. Around Ohio I barely see any other 4 series and at that every one has been a 428 except for the 1 AY M4 in the garage at work.

As an even more aside, but perhaps a little funny and indicative of the people around here... My mom asked me if I was getting the same car as I have now (435 to M4). I told her that she likely wouldn't be able to tell the difference. She wanted to know why I was getting it then. I told her, "because it's drastically different. "

Being in CT I can definitely understand that. But I drive around fairfield county and NYC daily, and believe it or not I have not seen a single YAS. In fact I've only seen 1 in the wild up here. Really crazy.

I see SO, black, white, and gray every now and then. And the occasional AY. But not YAS

I understand how you feel. Even being that my car is white and red. But when I see it around out in the wild it just looks great. YAS was my second choice. My wife likes the color as well. If I was to do it again. I would get YAS or SMB.

Not in my favorite type of lighting, nor the best pictures, but I'll get better.
