Nope. Car makes full boost at 3200rpm. You'd almost never notice the lag, considering the amount of torque the engine makes, even before full boost. If you were driving the car competitively, you'd never ever see RPMs that low.
Now a 1000+awhp Evo would have terrible lag, but the torque curve is shifted towards higher RPMs and are built with this in mind. These engines are usually rev limited well over 9000rpm. |

Thanks for posting. Seems like a fair article. From the description of the cars, I'd definitely take the F80. Of course since I'm determined to buy what probably will be my last new MT car (not by choice), I suppose reviews do not matter.
Competition is a good thing. Mercedes and Audi have really upped their game over the past decade.

I think we are going to see reviews pretty split. If that is the case it means that AMG has made up a lot of ground. Personally I think this is good for everyone. Pushes M to step it up another notch for the next model.

They make it more hardcore, people will complain. They make it a better DD, people will complain. They throw in an NA V8, people will complain. They throw in another turbo 6, people will complain. People have their preferences for cars and that's that... the C63 to me while competitively placed in the market vs an F80, looks for a different customer. There is no end to this. |

Boost threshold is the engine speed at which there is sufficient exhaust gas flow to generate positive manifold pressure, or boost. Turbo lag is the time delay of boost response after the throttle is opened when operating above the boost threshold engine speed.

I know the prices to all my options. I just didn't know the price to the car. I mean it's going to between 7k-10k different than the regular C63 which is supposed to start 62-63. My deposit is refundable. Either way the S has a lot of standard options so I only got 4 things added on. It should come out to less than 80. #yolo

Why would a dealer do that for a brand new car that will likely get a lot of attention for a guy who's never bought a car in this segment before? BS all over this story.
