Your friend is generally correct. The Ring is considered public road with a toll for it. German road laws state that passing on the right is forbidden. However, the day this video was shot, multiple manufacturers may have paid for exclusive usage of the track. In that context, the rules are likely different.

Oh my God that sounds terrible. There is barely any change in the sound as it goes through the revs. That being said I would rather have crap sound than fake sound.

Wow...seems extremely planted, stable, and fast. Is it just me, but as we keep seeing more footage, does it appear that chassis bounces around less vs. E9x M3s? Would be really interested to see what sort of suspension advancements they have made (if any), or is it a function of less weight/but longer wheelbase to absorb more of the bumps.

Bleh. It sounds very characteristic of a low revving turbocharged inline six. Lot's of blaaaaaaaaat sound, very little shrieking like we're used to from M cars of yesterday. Almost reminds me of a high-performance diesel. I sure will miss the scream of the S65.

On a positive note, the driver sure wasn't pulling any punches on those laps. Hard on the brakes and really sticking it through the corners. The suspension looks like it's holding up well. Can't wait to hear the actual bridge to gantry time.

Im really not too worried about the exhaust note, stock m exhaust always downplay the true sound of an m engine. Its not like people on here never change to aftermarket exhaust anyways....lol

Wish we had a Nurburgring. Would love to just roll up, pay a toll, and get out there.

I agree all looks well except for the exhaust note. My iS sounds worlds better and the last thing I'm going to want to do after shelling out 70K is have to buy a 4k exhaust.

Exactly what I was thinking...
Seems to have much less body roll and compression than my E90 M3!!!!!

Looks very well sorted, and very quick. Exhaust sounds like shit. So basically agree with everybody else...

A 3,200cc N54 engine with a electric-turbo to form a tri-turbo N54 engine? Is that real?

Honestly, guys give it a break about the exhaust note and what not. If this car drives and feels better than its predecessors then what the heck .....

Stay optimistic, I'm sure it will be better.
