Why? What's so special about a 97 e36 with 50k miles to justify $23k?

There's a few mint ones that have shown up for that price. You're living under a rock if you think the e36 market hasn't seriously increased lately

Yeah...and did they sell? I see a lot of cars for sale for crazy prices, and this one fits the mold. Again, what's special about this car to command that price? $12-15k for a "collector" sure, $23k for a 50k 4-door e36...let me know when it sells.

In general, the sedan can go for more money because they are rarer (also supposedly stiffer chassis than the coupe). I personally prefer the coupe, even though I definitely wouldn't have minded getting a nice sedan as long as it was a manual.

My old coworker had an absolutely MINT coupe. 1997, white on black cloth, 5MT. It had 109k miles when he sold it. He SOLD it for $17k, and this was almost 2 years ago. The car then popped up on EAG for even more $$

Don't get me wrong, I'm not ready to drop $20k+ for an E36 M3, but the $10k rule is long gone.
