Drove 2019 RS5 coupe
I drove this car today. Here are my impressions and my perceptions based on a 20 minute test drive and a close up look at the car.
I think the Audi's doors feel heavier, as does the whole car. The car is quieter inside, but you can hear the exhaust when you accelerate. The road noise seems quieter. All in all, the Audi is a better touring car. The technology (gadgets) are cool. The Audi seemingly had more body roll, and the seats, while comfortable (they massage you), are not as well side bolstered as the M4. My lease is up in less than a month, and I may look at the C63S. I liked the Audi more than I thought I would. The sunroof sucks though. I don't think the carbon fiber roof is an option. |

Do you have any numbers already for the C63S?

Were you able to stay awake through the whole test drive?

Thought about it more, and drove my car for about an hour today. I think I want to keep my car, or get a 2020 if it makes more financial sense. The body roll thing is something I can't get out of my head. The car stuck fine, but I felt thrown around.

IDK about adding a point to build quality. It seems all the Germans have their faults. Audi's seems to be little stupid stuff breaking (like the plastic bit that holds the sun visor in place, little knobs randomly coming off here and there, etc), and motors blowing.

I am in the same boat. Although I own my f80 m3, I have been thinking about upgrade and after driving everything comparable I decided to go up market to 911 or some crazy SUV (x6 category), i have 2 kids to drive around do utility must exist even the spartan one. In my opinion, BMW,despite all the negatives we are saying on this forum, is really making decent cars with decent quality and superior performance over their competitors. You learn this after thoughtful comparison and testing.

I agree on cooling seats as needed. I would add elimination of body roll.

recently had a 2019 M Sport 330i loaner. Interior tech is def next level stuff compared to the F80. if your not much of a track guy, i think the M340i is worth a look. C63 on the other hand was disappointing when i drove it for a week, on top, AMG leases suck.

Here is my list:

I have them in my Honda, but not in a Tesla, nor BMW. Don't really miss them. I do miss quality audio in M3 (have HK, still meah), and Android Auto support in BMWs. Quote:
RS5 is about +$5K on M4 (M3 is now n/a), and is +400 lbs heavier. It does feel more luxurious and upscale on the inside. Dealer only had 1 instock, already pre-sold, so I did not get to test drive it. I did test drive RS3, and it was surprisingly fun. Crappier interior than RS5 (similar to M2 vs. M4), but a very pleasant surprise for $56K MSRP. a

My f80 doesn't creak at all. I have the Teflon tape in the door jams though. I did the same in my old F30 and it solved the issue
Audio quality is fine. I have found it better with a direct source like a flash drive loaded with 320kbps quality tracks. You aren't going to have much quality with streaming services like Sirius. Of course its not going to be as good as the benz or audi bang&olufsen or Mark Levinson systems . those cars are heavier and loaded with sound deadening. (My Ferrari has some ridiculous stereo option but guess what... its pointless because the engine invades the cabin once you start it). The audi and benz are more luxury than sport. 0-60 is pointless. watch a review on how bad the RS5 understeers through corners. its over 500 pounds more than an M3 lol. as for a touch screen. I've been in a tesla and its pretty. But I like the I-drive just fine since I can use it without having to sit up or move to reach the screen. I think it would be especially cumbersome to use a touch screen with a manual transmission
