They're not dead - you will need to code in Bimmercode for them to work:

REM software needs to be updated. Add HELC to HO-WORT, recode and it will be coded properly.

REM is the control module for your taillights.

This is not something handled by Bimmercode. You will need to locate someone in your area to update and make the necessary changes to the VO in order to get them working. BMW may also be able to do this for you in your country through retrofit path.

Steps are discussed lightly here:

No, Bimmercode cannot update modules or modify VO.

There's a proper way and there's another way....

VO coding HELC as mentioned earlier does everything you had to code manually in 1 step and does not get overwritten during istep changes, putting you back to square one. Proper VO Coding makes the retrofit futureproof.

Best of luck.

I dont doubt you know what you are talking about, but a noob like me proved you wrong in 20 min. That is not ok.

You should have written this from the beginning, not now when you are refuted.

Best regards!

And still, thanks for the commitment. But plz stop confusing, let this be a reminder, you run a shop ffs :P

No need to get snarky about it, since you still do not fully understand the answers being provided. The solution you used works for the time being, but can still be overwritten if any updates happen in the future.

VO coding is the route BMW and dealerships use for this retrofit.

Might want to scale back on the attitude if you want people to offer free help in the future.

You sound like your dad just bought you your car and you're still in high school.
Tom is a very helpful guy and has helped a lot of guys on here. I guess you're not understanding what he is trying to tell you. Maybe a language barrier or perhaps something else. Glad it worked for you but your attitude is not appropriate.

I dont diss agree, at all!
I truly belive he has, still, i hate, truly hate when some one (its not personally) wright something and act like its 100% accurate when it is not. And, excused my language, but i could not care less if its Obama or who ever. I want to solve a problem and do not appreciate claims that will prolong the solution to my problem (due to laziness).

Like i wrote Tom, i am grateful for the commitment, but I must stand my ground regarding claims that are not correct.

Thanks Tom (itīs nothing personall <3)!

Dude.

Tom gave you the correct advice. You chose a shortcut which isn't the best way to go about it.

He is a huge help on these forums and would never intentionally mislead anyone.

It's time for forum moderators to lock this thread.
