What will the M3 sedan base price be?
I'm expecting the M3 sedan to come in at $60,800. The way I derive that number is adding $9000 to a 335i M Sport with options that bring it up to base M3 trim is $51,800:
$500 - Heated Front Seats $2150 - Navigation system with touchpad $500 - Metallic Paint An RS5 is $69,800 but that car is basically an M4 coupe with the executive package. So $60,800 + $3,600 for coupe + $5500 exec package with extended leather = $69,900. Normally a coupe is only $2600 more than a sedan but the M4 has a carbon fiber trunk lid. So I'm also implying that the coupe base price will be $64,400.

The out the door price can still climb quite a bit, based on my guesses here:
$1900 - Driver Assistance Plus (ZDB) $1900 - Lighting Package (ZEP) $5500 - Executive Package (ZEC) $2900 – M Double-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic $6000 – M Carbon Ceramic Brakes $1000 – Adaptive M Suspension $1100 -19″ Light Alloy Wheel Double-Spoke Style 437 M with Mixed Performance Tires $0 – Moonroof (will delete the CFK Roof) $575 – Power rear sunshade $500 – Anthracite Wood Trim $250 - Automatic high beams $750 - Side and Top View Cameras $500 – Parking Assistant $800 – Harman Kardon surround sound system $250 – Concierge Services $250 – Enhanced USB & Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration

Adaptive M Suspension doesn't come standard on an M car?
Also, should we expect that the upgraded stereo in the F80 will sound the same as the HK stereo in the F30? |

$7000 was about the jump from a 328i to a 335i. $9000 is about the jump you make when you go from an A4 to an S4.
The M3 engine is being made on a regular 3 series assembly line, nor is it being built primarily by hand. This is actually true of the GT3 engine also - Porsche has added lots of automation to the process. The cost should no longer be $25k-$30k for the engine.

$25k or $10k, they're still gonna charge us as much as the market can bear for that engine.
Base car is going to be $60k+, I'd wager on it. BMW has become very greedy and allowing Audi to undercut them by significant amounts. |

The old M3 Sedan was 55ish right? I would guess around $56-59k then with no options. The F30's base price wasn't that far off the E90's, so I would imagine the same for the F80.

I'd wager that's a pretty good guess, especially when you consider that navigation, among a few other "options" are now standard.

I have feeling that it will be something like $59,500 base MSRP for USA.
I hope it doesn't go over 68k with options that I want (DCT, Executive, HK Audio, 19 in wheel). |

Not sure they would be "well under $7k" though. |

The RS5 has them listed for $6000. It's a bit absurd to have a single option that is more than 10% of the base price of the car.

Right, but the ceramic brakes are over $9k on the M5/M6. The most annoying thing for me will be not having the keyless entry, because there is no way I am going to pay $5k plus for a package I don't want just so I can get the keyless entry.

They're $7k on a Cayman.
