With the 275 on stock rims up front, is it still possible to have KW HAS?

I don't want to go too low, so thought these would be a good option?

3 pages not one meaningful semi long term review of a kit. Starting to lean towards swifts again. And also starting to realize springs, no matter what anyone says, aren't the long term solution. Like 98% of people here, I just want to minimize the wheel gap as best as possible without sacrificing the OEM feel. Eibachs would probably be everyones best bet for OEM feel but that drop is nothing.. maybe its better for F80 owners. But than the lower you go, the more stress on stock dampers.

From what I have seen 295/275 combo will work.

I'M doing this combo tomorrow and thinking about KW HAS as I dont want to go to low in the front.

im in the UK and thinking of lowering my M4 when it arrives in a few weeks. (time is dragging..) ive seen the H&R on offer and Eibach but not come across the KW HAS over here. assuming i can get them then that sounds like the best option to dial in the best height for my DD duties. however (and here comes the dumb question) how do you actually adjust the height on them? is it something you can do at home with no mechanical knowledge at all or is it a job for a mechanic?

I'm also really debating about lowering. However my parking garage is inconsistent and the the black stock trim under the front bumper barely scrapes on this one ramp. So I cant go that aggressive. So Eibach may be the only solution for me.

If you've never lowered a car or not mechanically inclined, then for sure take it to a shop. You most likely can install it yourself but you dont want a learning experience on a $70K car. Plus it is 10000x easier to install with a proper lift, the shop will also have air tools, which IMO is a must for removing tight suspension components. It shouldnt be that expensive of an install.

Hi, thanks for the reply. sorry if i didnt explain properly but i dont mean fitting the kit myself (that would be a disaster) i mean the adjustable height function. from what i understand HAS means you can vary the height so after it has been fitted by a professional can you fine tune it yourself at home or is it a case of back on a lift to fiddle with it later. my worry is dropping it too low, then having rubbing/bottoming out and having to go back and fourth to the mechanic to adjust it. in which case i may just go eibach or wait for the Mperformance coilovers to come out over here in the UK

I have Swift installed last week. Very stiff and there are some problems with Batch 3 of the shocks. Am going to see if mine settle more but may swap out to KW HAS as I don't really need a track oriented spring and this is a DD for me. Check this forum for comments on Swift from other owners.

Would the HAS kit not have the added benefit of allowing you to corner balance the car when you lower it? Without it, how do you know the lowering of the car hasn't disrupted the balance of the car? I'm up for lowering cars, but for performance, not just looks.

Anyone have the HAS Spring rates?

You are correct about corner balancing, which is a key benefit of HAS.

Note that the K&W HAS have an interference problem with wide front tires, which is an important consideration, especially for those who track their cars.

I have H&R on my M4 Coupe. It is too low and hard for daily driving. I love the drop, but will replace them with KW HAS. I have already 2 quotes with same price.

Has (pardon the pun) anybody had issues with bounciness with the oem dampers? I know on my previous audi, springs would get me the nice drop but at highway speed going over small dips they were a little too bouncy for me. I eventually went to a full coilover setup on PSS10's. In hindsight, I could have saved a little bit if I just purchased performance shocks with the springs (koni, bilstein, etc.) Has anybody done that?

Front = 0.8” Lowering (200 lbs/in)
Rear = 0.2” Lowering (685 lbs/in)

You can definitely tell the car is lower. Great option for those who want to still be able to drive comfortably without having to complete angle the car at every bump or driveway. I like to call it a "grown up" drop.
Where did you get these rates from for the Eibachs?

On their site it shows following:

Front = 0.8” Lowering (183 lbs/in)
Rear = 0.2” Lowering (628 lbs/in)

Possibly here: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...023275&page=14

I believe the stock spring rates are
Front = 185 lb/in
Rear = 650 lb/in

So I can't imagine that the specs on their site are correct.
