Cheap rock hard plastic, just like the F30. Embarrassing in a $40k car. Completely unacceptable in a $70k+ car.

Im not familiar with you at all but glad you follow me around the forum to see what my opinion is

I notice its guys who already own M's offering their criticism of the interior and the guys who dont even drive M cars telling us to "STFU" and calling us "whiney". Sorry but we M drivers hold high standards for M cars because we drove E46's and then E92 M3's. Some of you just wouldnt understand no matter what. So why not drop the personal attacks and realize not everyone is supposed to hold the same drooling fanboy opinions as you?

After looking at the Corvette C7 interior this does not look super impressive for at least $10K more base MSRP and I know it is pre-production. However, the instrument panel is something that is not going to change pre to post production anyways all the options out there and they go with same ol stuff.....it is already quiet dated looking.

Go with variable instrument panel setup. Use a video screen to allow customization of instrument panels on go based on the mode of the car. I am not very impressed except for the steering wheel the rest is just blah.

I'm withholding judgement on the interior until I see more official pics.

I really don't like the gauges (minor complaint, I know) but the fact that they don't even have the M badge in them makes me think they aren't the final production gauges.
The performance seats do have a side air bag though, at least mine does the last time I checked!

I remember back in the day when the E9X came out, most E46 owners were disappointed in stacked gauges, saying it looked "cheap" and was most likely a "money saving" decision. Seems like the same ole same ole up in here. If it feels to "plastic" for you, don't get one. Keep on driving the E9X that you have, and be satisfied with the quality of that build. As a friend always told me, if you want a pretty car, get an Audi. If you want a safe car, get a Merc. If you want a fun car, get a BMW. Not quite so worried about the inner aesthetics but performance. Just my .02

Dude, posts like this!? Legendary is not something I came up with about the S65, I guess I'm just quoting a million other owners, forums, awards, car magazines etc.. The upcoming BMWs in all shapes are becoming a big disappointment to me..

I just looked it up and you're right, the Performance seats do have airbags so why can't we have them in the US? My guess is the cost to have them tested and certified by the US DOT was too high for BMW to swallow for a niche product like a dealer-installed bucket seat.

Still, this doesn't apply to seats that are factory installed on the F80 (either standard or as an option) there's nothing about these seats that makes me think they wouldn't be legal for the US.

I currently own an M3. And some of M3 owners criticisms here are pretty transparent as being overly self-defensive of their now older model cars.

How so? The e9x interior is really nothing to brag about but it's quite obvious from these pictures that they cut a lot of costs even more and I don't think there is anything wrong with pointing that out

Come on now, it's not just one comment about the interior. Every single one of your posts has been belittling the F8x series or worrying about the resale of your 2013. Just enjoy your car and get over the needless post negativity about its unreleased successor.

I was thinking about the new M interior this AM. Personally, I would rather M focused on the steering, weight, engine (more torque makes me sooo happy), and suspension more than the interior. I am sure BMW will not take a step back from the E92 interior and some of the images from the M event with the DTM drivers shows things like a leather dash and the M symbol in digital readout, etc.

The interior will be fine and I think we are blowing this way out of proportion. There will be the same steering, suspension, throttle buttons like the M5/6. I like the fact that there are more buttons showing things like parking sensors, camera's, etc. I think the HUD will be a very welcome addition, especially if it is tweaked by M.

As far as people with a 2012 or 2013 M3, I don't believe you will take any hit when the new one comes out. It has a V8, rock solid track record for reliability with its components and it is a classic M. I was on the same fence selling my car just a month or so ago and I didn't take a loss for it at all. If it is in good shape, well maintained, etc., there will always be a market for a well cared for M. Long live the E92, E46 and every other M. No matter how they compare in tests (new M5/6) it is still an M and a great car period. Way too much negativity or insecurity, and we are all on the same team. Just my 2 cents.

By keeping the interiors of BMW's to the level that they are (using Porsche as an example only), the cost of the M4 should be kept in check better. For a base 911, the full leather interior is $6000 and carbon fiber trim is another $2000. If BMW offered these as options you might get some takers, but some will refuse to spend the money but at least people won't complain about the base price. Now, if these become standard options to choose from, then I think the base price would have to go up and a lot of people will complain about the price encroaching upon other price brackets.

With my Cayenne S I love the full leather interior and options that we put on it, but if I had to do it over, I don't think I would load it up the same. We put more money in options than the cost of our GTI! I think I would still like the Cayenne the same with fewer options and more important things at least in place (V8, air suspension, etc.). For me, the full leather interior (though nice) is not a necessity and even without it the interior would still be quite nice with just the full leather seats.

isnt the gauge cluster just one out of a current 335i? Just slapped in there for pre-production?

Something about the whole setup screams 'pre-production', I don't think M would let this car be so dreary inside

Modded to stock, that's silly. As for GM interiors being a benchmark, you'd better be joking....but don't think you are
