If you look at it with all the options you get, it's about on par.

I've seen tons of F80s go for $100k+ when you add all the options like full leather, accessories, CCBs and all the CF parts and in some cases an individual color.

This car makes sense if you want all that from the factory already, assuming you can get one for MSRP and you want one of the listed indie colors + the one off CS parts and interior.

You can look at it the other way and do all of that yourself for considerably less money. I guess it just depends on your thought process, really.

You're right I speced my 18 M4 to be at around 113 after taxes and warranty

$10K markup

I was "first on a list" for months...the dealership wanted $10K over with no guarantee that the car would be mine if someone outbid me. I understand the concept that they're trying to make a profit and that their margins are small, but this kind of stuff is so disheartening to enthusiasts.

More money for less comfort, i.e. no armrests. I think you'd be kind of crazy to actually track an M3CS on a regular basis, which this car was built for. If you crash the car, that's a lot of money down the drain.

Better to buy a used 2015 M3 for 50% of what it was worth when new, and modify the suspension, power, aero, and weight for a more track focused setup.

This probably comes standard with a lot of stuff

With individual color, all the carbon fiber like the hood and all the body parts like splitters the cost starts to make sense slotted above the competition pack.

That being said - the competition package is the perfect M3 offering

Good point - in reality most of these cars are destined to be Garage Queens. Most GTS M4 cars probably don't see much extended track time either.

But, if you look at the current market, never-registered examples are going for 10s of thousands below MSRP. And low mileage used prices have touched, and even fallen below, $100k.

I can't imagine that there will be a line forming to pay the nearly $100k starting price for an M3 CS, but I've been surprised by what seems like a good value to others before.

Been like that since the F8x released. Get one fully loaded, CCB, leather, M Perf exhaust and accessories gets you that 100k+ M3/4

Always the used market in year or two.
