Seriously considering a used M4 but can't find one with an MT

This car supposedly comes in manual but there are none used with 500 miles of me and I cannot buy out of state. What is more annoying is all the posts on auto trader list the m4 as manual but then when you look at pictures its a freaking automatic.

Feels like the only thing that comes in manual is the STI, Corvette and Camaro.

Will be hard to find. Most were ordered with dct. The ones people got with MT will likely stay with the buyers awhile. I just sold my MT and the buyer was very happy to have found a used one!

My approved loan does not have 6 months. Going to look at another c7 corvette in a few days.

Looks good but the car is lowered. Not that it matters, just saying.

Dont settle for DCT unless you like it , manual is different and DCT could be faster but end of the day its auto

FYI - I was just at the dealership this weekend looking at new + used M4s. If there's a used one you want that's at a dealership out of state, your local dealership can do a car swap to get it for you no prob, no extra fee, no hassle, no nothing. Same as swapping for a new car that you want. Found that out when I showed them a specific M4 someone else posted on this forum that they almost bought - it's in North Carolina, I'm in California. Dealership told me "oh if you want to pull the trigger on that one no prob just let us know and we'll grab it for you." And they don't even have to do a 1:1 swap apparently - just "car" for "car". They might throw the other dealership an X2 for the M4 or something - doesn't matter apparently.

So I don't know what your hangup is on "can't buy out of state" but...might be worth looking into.

I'll put in my 2 cents about a situation like this.

I tried to transfer a used F80 from one dealership to another. Same state, owned by the same franchise so essentially a sister dealership.

The answer was no. Mind you this was not 18 or closer to a newer model. It was a 16.

They said they'd only gain a few hundred dollars on the sale or something like that and declined my request.There may have been some other underlying factors to why they didn't but yeah, luckily it wasn't too far to pick up from the other city.

On the other hand they did do it for and e92m3 prior but it was a different salesman.
I think it will come down to how serious you are and the rapport you build with the salesman. Good luck.

when i ordered mine i went back and forth between cloth and leather and went with leather for the silly reason it came with heated rear seats and cloth didn’t. saw cloth in person recently. instant regret over the decision. oh well. at least i got it with a 6MT!

we are ordering my wife a new M4 with manual, tomorrow. the one she has, currently, is a 2016 MGM with 6MT and sunroof. our intention was to trade it in but if you are serious about buying one, we can definitely talk. shoot me a PM and i can get you the particulars....

Thanks, wish I could but it has to be through a licensed dealer. That is what my bank told me when I got pre approval.

Why limit yourself to your state? Search nationwide and you'll find it quickly, especially in SoCal. I drove my last BMW 1,800 miles home from Oregon.
