I love my RKAutowerks intake. Looks good, K&N filters, not too loud.

It's a front mount intake, always a bit scarred with heavy rain tho.....

$199! Blemished though. I wonder how badly damaged it is..

They are aluminum tubes with cone style filters...If it fits properly who cares.

Spend your money where it counts; suspension, wheels, tunes

From BMS:

Quote:
We ordered in 150 of the Phoenix S55 intakes, which ironically are basically a China copy of our BMS S55 intakes. Anyway, the samples were perfect. But when the full order showed up there were some minor problems. Typical China.

Anyway our loss is now your gain. We're blowing these out for $199 and will have them fix the issues next batch. They include authentic USA made BMS inverted cone filters. Same as our intake. We just could not bring ourselves to sell their cheaper Chinese quality filters.

Also worth noting, due to the unique nature of this situation, we're only offering these direct from BMS' website and not through our normal dealer network.

Here are the issues:
1) Phoenix attached the passenger side location bracket at the wrong angle so we've removed the bracket all together. The filter sits snugly in the airbox securing the tube location well enough without the bracket.
2) Phoenix failed to expand the 3" passenger side pipe to 3.125" at the factory coupler so it's a bit loose requiring an extra couple of turns on the hose clamp to tighten it down. No performance effect.
3) The MAF housings are around 1/2mm too small. Some MAF sensors fit while others don't. We've included smaller reversible ORINGs you can swap over to the MAF sensors if they don't fit with the factory ORING.

Will add a few photos of the intake installed on our M4 later today!

Fake timepieces are a no fly zone!

You realize most oem performance parts are not made in germany? Some for example are made in Slowakei...

Hey,

Good Morning!

"Slovakia"

Yes. For me it's a Cost of Labor / Profit Margin thing, sans mentioning quality control!

That's why, being too late to the game, I won't/can't purchase the "BMW Performance" C.F. Mirror Covers.

Uugh, couldn't sleep!

Cheers!

Hey,

Yeah! Go figure

Don't own one of those either. Although, that seems to be more of a materials (supplier?) issue.

Hopefully, the latest batch of "BMW Performance" stuff isn't scheduled to be made in the that fancy shmancy
new factory in China, which, by the way, was only to be in production to supply the domestic market!

On a side note... Japan, on the other hand, has arguably the best industrial materials processing trade in the world!

* Al
* Ti
* Ca (Fiber)

The best comes, ironically, from a country with no natural resources, or very little, of any of these raw materials.

Cheers!
