Yeah that's a pretty reasonable price to be honest. Especially if it's Avus blue. Very rare.

Sure you can get a new car for slightly more and it'll be significantly less attractive, arguably hideous.

Not the only, but if it were, then the only LCI - yes. (Even if I disagree with your rankings )

We've also got the phenomenon of your screen vs. my screen and your photo vs. my photo to deal with here - I know when I pull the same listing on my desktop and then on my laptop the car looks like it's different colors.

IMO, Avus is more muted than LMB and while it does get a pop under fluorescents, the LMB displays even more of it in the same lighting. In fluorescent bathing my go-to is: If it looks like SMB, it's LMB. If it looks like LMB, it's likely Avus (or potentially Hera Mica, but those are even rarer birds). If the photo looks way blown out in contrast, it's SMB.

*edit* - looks like I was right on the money with Avus. Glad I haven't lost it with my distaste for the G8x's.

First quoted poster is spot-on. It wasn't for lack of trying (over and over, model year by model year). No Interlagos.

You're good, even if they're all grey-scale! Hope you're well and we get to drive a bit this year!

For a short while I owned both LMB and Avus and had them side by side in my garage. I was still thrown off. Stupid lighting and camera color processing!

Neither car is freshly washed, but this is a quick shot of LMB in front of Avus.

Great seeing you today Zorro

And another, but this time a Mexico Blue M4 is the separator. LMB on left, Avus on right.

I'm not saying I disagree with you, but I think there may be other factors at play. I'm wondering if that's some combination of:
  • The hand cream/lotion the prior owner used
  • A HUGE uptick in hand sanitizer use (I've noticed gumminess on 2 of my 3 cars wheels that was not a problem before this constant purell world)
  • Florida UV/sunlight/heat exposure combined with the prior 2 points.

Or, rough hands like for a carpenter or a construction worker on the leather day in/day out could lead to that kind of wear too I guess.

That was a car from down here in South Florida, it is Avus. I know the ex-owner, he had a mint green m4 before this.

The last of the M3s (F80) came in four individual colors at no charge. So this is either Avus or Laguna Seca Blue - I'm betting that is Avus and the car mightr be wrapped? Just something a touch off?
