Great and definitely onto my list. Are F82 and F83 the same products? Any issues with the brightness of the rear driving lights? Have them the opportunity to activate the fog rear lamp? I read into another thread elsewhere that the sealing against moisture and rain isnt perfect and water could enter. Hows the quality overall including fitment? Thx.

I'm curious about the inner taillights locating tab. The F82 tab is in a slightly different location than the f32, F33, f36 and f83. Is tab located for F82 or all the rest of the 4 series.

Think it's for all the rest of the 4 series. The tab has to be trimmed/cut off for F82s in order for the inner tails to sit flush with the carbon trunk.

Awesome! I was hoping that was the case. Now the other question I'm sorry to bring up. Are the brake and signal lights as bright as stock lights or close? I'm in California, where it's blindingly sunny most of the time. Between that and the CCBs, I'm a little paranoid about signals and brake lights.
Man these look good. I really want to get them. Almost bought a salvaged GTS a couple years ago to get the taillights. |

I have the brake force display coded on my F82. Does anybody know if that will interfere with these OLED style lights?
Thanks in advance |

Lights installed. Overall pretty satisfied. Lets see how long they hold up, and hopefully no condensation issues after a wash!

^ Maybe seal with silicone? Hey speaking of which, how are you guys that did install , routing the yellow wire from the outer fender-tails to connect with yellow wire on the inner-trunk tails? Hoping for the best tip/method to avoid wires from being totally exposed.

These small pieces have to be cut for all m4 models. If you want me to do it before shipping it out, I can. Just let me know. If not, make sure you do it before you install it.

Install tips for routing the long yellow/red ( turn signal/hazards ) wire from lower/outer tails to connect with upper/inner tails.
1st image: Pull trunk weather stripping that secures lower trunk liner to the side--> gives access to route the lower/outer tail wire under the liner, then up through trunk hinge ( white circle ) to connect to upper/inner tail wire- see second image. 2nd image: Do not secure wire on hinge and tie up the extra slack toward upper/inner tails-- as seen on left. When plastic hinge cover is on, there will be a lot of resistance when closing trunk- and plastic hinge cover + clips may come off-> while closing the trunk Instead, leave plugged in wire hanging loose as shown on the right ( white diagram). Pull and bundle up extra slack towards bottom as shown-secure neatly with small zip tie, and tuck away in the space under trunk liner ( white arrow ). Reconnect plastic hinge cover and close trunk slowly --> to make sure trunk closes smoothly without resistance. If encounter resistance, play around with slack towards bottom end Re-secure weather stripping + trunk liner Re-secure drip rails. Repeat step other side All wires concealed and looks OEM Hope this helps !

My 2 cents.
There's grommets located on both sides of the trunk. You just need a metal hanger and a extra hand to reach the grommets behind the liners. This way no wires are exposed and truly its the proper way to be doing it. It seems sketchy how a lot of you guys are just wrapping the cables behind the weather strip, its an unnecessary short cut.
I was one of the early stage testers for these VLAND lights (Received them 2 or so months ago) so I'm not sure if they sorted the fitment out or not but here's what I noticed. 1. Yes, cutting those 3 tabs was necessary for the trunk lights but I also found I needed to add a few washers to achieve perfect fitment for the bumper lights. 2. Use the original BMW mounting bracket for the trunk lights, the VLAND one wasn't cooperating for me. Cons 1. Visible sealant when looking up close at the edges of the lights. 2. Fitment. Though you can get it lined up flush with each light they are still sunken in a little with the upper bumper. Overall they're not bad for the price but if you are patient I would wait for the V2 version. |
