Dropped on aFe springs...

I haven't seen any or much info posted on aFe springs yet (just the coilovers) so I figured I'd give them a shot. (Part# AC-410503001N)

For me, the drop is perfect at a modest 1" front and rear but definitely helps with the wheel gap. Springs are in a bright orange and feel really good on the road with EDC. I'll take a few pictures this weekend and post since I Just got my car back from service last night (stupid pinched wire behind my bumper was causing my EDC to malfunction and turn off completely).

Here are a few pictures of the box and the color of the springs when I removed them upon receipt. Overall, packaged very well and shipped really quick.

Thanks for posting this. I updated the Master List. Also, please post pics when you get them.

Every spring we've seen so far lowers the front a bit more than the rears; even more so on the M3. So I'm curious to see what your drop looks like.

Very nice, thanks for sharing. So why these and not the MS or Eibach springs? Im currently debating between those two, but this one certainly can be entertained as well. Had you ridden in other cars with different set ups? How do these compare?

Also do you know the spring rates? Couldn't find them on the website.

I'm not sure about the rear, but the fronts definitely look progressive. You'll be hard pressed to find a spring rate that matters. If you dig, you "might" be able to find a static spring rate though.

I'm unsure what the spring rates are but I'm sure aFe would provide them if asked.

I haven't ridden in another m3/4 thas has either MS or Eibach so I can't provide an accurate comparison but I'm happy with the feel of these. That being said, each mode I change the suspension to feels like a half step closer to the next level. So comfort feels closer to sport but not quite... overall, they aren't that harsh at all.

Part of my division was that the stated F/R drop was 1". I've never been a huge fan of my cars looking like they are leaning forward so I wanted to keep the front & rear drop as even as possible. H&R & Status Gruppe were the two others I considered that kept a very similar height but I didn't want to go down 1.2"+.

I figured an inch would be perfect and while it doesn't completely eliminate the gap, I wanted to give myself a little extra room for error in some of the rougher parts of OC that don't always make it easy to not scratch up your front bumper.

Can you post more photos of the stance of your M4? I'm most concerned w/the height front-to-rear (the fender/tire gap Front vs. Rear). Stance looks pretty good.

Also, any further feedback regarding driveability, ride, etc?

I'm considering the aFe set-up for street/track and cosmetic reasons.

Thank you in advance!

I just installed 20" wheels / tires... here is what it looks like with larger wheels. I think the clearance is purrrfect. Running Front: 255/35/20 - Rear: 285/30/20. I went conservative using a 285 since I wanted to make sure it would clear on a 10.5, 20" @ET:27.

These springs were installed on my M235i in February along with some other chassis mods including the AFE sways. I used the F80/F82 springs as I assumed they'd fit the F22 and would be much stiffer than most other lowering springs designed for the 235i but not as aggressive as the Swift's. I reached out to AFE probably five times to confirm spring rates with no luck but I expect they are slightly softer than the AFE HAS rates (224/700). I absolutely love the way it rides (Dinan bumpstops help a lot!) and would recommend the AFE sways too. The only complaint I have is that the front was dropped more than the rear so the car has rake now and scrapes more often than I'd like. The outside picture is before springs were installed and the parking garage pic is after driving ~30 miles. The rear has settled a bit since then. Overall I'm very happy with them!
