BavSound sub preorder out now!

Check your email for BavSound Sub preorder. I think you had to subscribed to their notification list on their website to get the email.
They are offering $100 off their $497 price until Sept 24th or they sell out. Only 150 available at this price.
Estimated shipping Nov 30th.
Hopefully this will fill in the low end and give a fuller, richer sound.
Also, use promo code TOOLKIT to get a free toolkit. Just add a toolkit to your cart and use the promo code.

Glad to see BavSound follow through on the subs.

If you guys have Hi-Fi (non-HK), I would pair it with BavSound S1 and BimmerTech Amp. For the HK guys, the BavSound S1 will make the sound richer and clearer as well.

I think you have to sign up through their website. It was a promo email. You could still do it or contact them directly.

Yes, direct fit. Plug and play swap. No splicing and uses the OEM amps.

Interested to see comments from someone with HK who installs this without Bav Sound S1 as that's what I would be doing. I'm okay with the mids and the highs in the car to be honest as long as the source is okay all that I think is lacking is midbass to low end.

This might be me. I have the subs on order and may just stop there. Although knowing me I will talk myself into the stage 1 upgrade as well. Mentally it would just bother me.

Are these efficient enough to play ss loud (or louder) than the stock subs without any other changes?

Has anyone documented improved low frequency extension , via RTA, after installing thrse subs with stock amplifier?

They are brand new. Never released. So nobody knows unless BavSound releases some data.

Absolutely NOT. Like Technic have mention numerous times they need to be powered by a more powerful amp. The weakest link the OEM system is the amp not the speakers. It makes no sense upgrading the speakers if you're not upgrading the oem amp...

If you are unsatisfied with the OEM woofers right now then most probably you will be with as well the Bavsound woofers. Not because they will be bad -they are not even on sale yet. It is because woofers require plenty of power to reproduce the kind of bass that people that replace OEM woofers are looking for. The OEM amp is not technically capable to produce that power.

These are not the Bavsound mids and tweeters that with OEM power sound much clearer than OEM -albeit less loud, again that pesky power output of the OEM amp. Woofers really need plenty of power to sound loud and deep.

But hey, get the woofers and let us know how they sound. You can always add a separate aftermarket amp to them.

For $397 I ordered them! I'll let you all know how much of a improvement they are over stock.

there has to be something other than bavsound that performs better. i have not personally heard the bavsound upgraded speakers. it seems to me that adding bavsound is like adding 15 horsepower to a 400 horsepower car. Sure, there is a difference but is it really worth it? So whats a good option for sound if you want a big boost in audio quality? Who has gone a different route and is happy with their audio?

Also, many of these cars are leased. I can't rip my car apart for a custom install and then put it back together at lease turn in. I'll gladly take a mild-moderate boost in audio performance, for a decent price, that allows me to stay within my lease.

Totally agree that they want the ability to put it back to stock when the lease is up. I Am curious to see if Bav will provide some data on these new subs. If there's a big difference with the factory amps vs the bimmertech dsp amp?.
