Ammo frothe hoseless - anyone tried?
Has anyone had any experience with this? I dont have the luxury of a drive way to clean my own car so this could be an option, thoughts?

I have used waterless wash exclusively since I had my Porsche in 2007. Rarely, when really muddy, or after a trip to the beach, I will go to a commercial car wash and use the spray nozzle to knock off the heavy dirt and salt, but then I go right home and use the waterless wash. I use ChemicalGuys Ecosmart RU, and microfiber cloths. Works fantastically, and is actually faster than washing and drying. Started it when we were in severe water restrictions from drought in San Antonio, and love it so much I have never thought of changing back.

I have also used Chemical Guys Ecosmart. Have always found it good for a light clean although when there is heavy dirt I do a normal full wash.
The key here is to take care and use lots of product to lift the dirt and provide lubrication, and also keep and eye on the MF towel. If it is dirty fold it or get a new one as it is possible to drag dirt and induce a light scratch. |

Rinseless is the only way I wash and have for over a decade. If the technique, towels, and cleaning product are good, marring isn't an issue except on extremely soft paints, but those get marred no matter what you do anyway.
Thanks for the link; I had no idea a foamy rinseless existed. Larry's stuff is generally quite overpriced compared to the competition IMO, but good to know nonetheless.

It'd be interesting to see a comparison between this and just using regular car soap and see if the Frothy leaves less residue after wiping. Also in various weather conditions especially heat and humidity. When doing rinseless and waterless washes the goal is the touch the paint as little as possible so you want a product that can clean residue free in as little wipes as possible. That being said I've tried a lot of them and I really like CarPro Ech2O and Wolfgang Uber Rinseless.

ONR all the way for a rinseless wash, combined with Hydrosilex as a drying/sealing agent. There is no residue left over with this combo.
I have to give a thumbs up for the AMMO product, definitely something I would add to the arsenal just for shits and giggles. |

Impressive video - he uses the product on cars that I would have considered too dirty for a rinse-less wash. However, it looks like it is always a 2-step process with the Hydrate. Looking forward to some real-world feedback!

So far I have only used it twice and I do like the results though I feel like it will be even better once I do a full decontamination and add RELOAD- Hydrosilex will become my regular drying agent in between re application of RELOAD which I'll do 2-3 times a year. That might seem like a lot but this is my daily and I life in the northeast so the car takes a beating, that and I drive 20K miles a year. I'm still trying to debate if I like Hydrosilex over Kenotek... |

I haven't found that to be the case, but remember everyone's application process is different. For starters I use high quality microfiber towels from the rag company: one to apply/dry and the other to polish. I'll use 2-3 sets during this process. Other factors like temperatures, washed in direct sunlight, and the most common error most of us make is over applying any product. A little goes a long way and makes for a more evenly distributed product that minimizes any leftovers that could cause streaking or hazing. I will say Kenotek seemed like an easier spray and wipe product but a lot can be said for Hydrosilex needing a little more elbow grease. The final product felt slippery - Kenotek smells better!

No video. There are plenty on youtube. But here are my thoughts along with some iPhone photos.
I just want to preface that I do not consider myself a detailer nor am I OCD about the cleanliness of my car. I have kids and a large dog that regularly ride in my car. The only detail work that's been done on my car is a ceramic coating a week after I bought the car; that was over 2 years ago. Although I love my car, it's cleanliness is no where near the top of my priorities. So keeping that in mind, here are my thoughts on AMMO Froth-e and AMMO Hydrate. As you can see from my photos, my car is pretty dirty. This is about 1 1/2 months of no washing with two separate instances of rain. I did not rinse the car before using the Froth-e; I did it dry. It was a bit scary going in dry, but Forth-e has great lubrication but stays put on the panel. No new scratch marks appeared after using Froth-e. Awesome! The spray bottle works great but you have to constantly pump it up to keep the spray wide. It starts to spray a beam as the air pressure drops. You can only go panel by panel or section by section because Froth-e dries up pretty quickly. There is a lot of overspray when moving from panel to panel so you are double cleaning a lot. I'm sure I'll get better at it as I do it more often. I used about 5 micro fiber towels for the body. 1 for the wheels. And 1 for Ammo Hydrate. It's pretty easy to "wash" a car with Froth-e, but it's not as fast as I thought it was going to be. It takes maybe half the time of a traditional rinse-soap-rinse-dry wash. It took about 20 oz of water + 2 oz of Froth-e to do the whole car. But you should put about 10 extra ounces because it starts sputtering when you tilt the bottle as it lower and lower. Some one should make a dry sump version of this spray bottle. I think it's good enough for me to do this type of wash most of the time. However, I would probably prefer to do a quick water rinse first to get off all the loose dirt and dust. Ammo Froth-e smells like shaving cream. Given that it uses the some of the same ingredients, that's not a surprise. Ammo Hydrate smells incredible! Hydrate is a great sealant after the wash (or even when drying the car after a traditional wash). Hydrate is a fantastic product that really brings out the shine. I would recommend Ammo Froth-e and Hydrate for sure. Here are some photos. BEFORE AFTER AMMO FROTH-E |

PS you might want to censor that microfiber cloth reflection on the floor. I don't think the OCD guys can take it . |
