I'm surprised no one said state farm. I've had them for 15 years. Seem to have the best rates. I've had a few non fault claims. Why hasn't anyone suggested them?

State Farm for me in an Atlanta burb is almost twice as much as Nationwide, Geico, or Progressive for the same coverage. Two mid 30s adults with no infractions and "great" credit.

I have Nationwide with gap and OEM replacement.

Second that... Amica is awesome and does go out of the way to keep you satisfied and happy. Someone crashed into my pilot on the freeway which required a whole quarter panel to be changed among other things. They only ordered OEM and car was in the shop for 40 days. Paid out $13,000!! That's more than one third of the cars price!

Amica all the way!

another thing you all should consider when looking into insurance is that they cover BRAND NEW OEM REPLACEMENT parts. This is SO important. 90% of insurance companies DO NOT do this. They will replace your parts with other options which they will say they warranty the part however don't be fooled, if its not a brand new OEM part from BMW, your BMW warranty will be voided. Trust me I know this first hand with Geico. They screwed me a few years back and since then I make sure I get it in writing from my agent (farmers) that any issues will be covered by brand new OEM parts. I try to warn everyone I can about this bc I don't want anyone to get burned

I didn't know that either till the geico rep (some random person) told me and when I said no I only want brand new OEM parts they would not cover it. So I took the money they paid me and spent the extra to replace everything with OEM parts. Even at my cost it cost me a lot of money so I could see why they do that. They were going to replace it with some sort of re furbished part, not going to work.

Our BMW area rep for service also confirmed with me that any non new BMW replacement part technically could be connected to any part in your car so you basically walking a tight rope. No thanks

Thanks, good to know. I got a quote of $122/month multi-line discount on Statefarm mutual, 36m, no at fault accidents/tickets, great credit, 50/100/50 $500 deductible, north atlanta suburbs. This was for the M4. I thought that was a bit high. So I'm going to check nationwide.

I wonder if SF offers a separate endorsement for OEM parts??

Nationwide offers up here in Md as I am an agent. Advise... raise your limits from 50/100/50 to 300/300/100 and ask about an Umbrella policy. You would be surprised it doesn't cost that much at all. Money well spent. Good luck!!

im assuming farmers offers OEM parts in case of accident? or do you have a to a pay a little extra for your policy? (which I think is totally worth it)

Look for a new carrier. I use USAA and my insurance cost increased $600 for the year. The increase is primarily for the "new car status". $2400 is exorbitant...unless you have a suspect history with driving, i.e. multiple speeding tickets, at fault accidents with citations, DUI.
I switched from usaa to geico, literally saved 50%.

Man that sounded very corporate.

Needless to say, Geico is about to earn my business.

29-year-old male, no criminal or driving record, clean as a whistle.. only car on the policy but I'm going to now move my entire family's cars over and see what kind of deal I can get. It also seemed too good to be true but I have the quote in writing!!

Read the fine print, GEICO may not be the best option.
I'm interested to know, what kinds of things in the fine print? I recently switched and feel like I increased coverages

I switched from GEICO to Liberty Mutual and saved $1000/year. I then switched my homeowners to Liberty Mutual and saved another $1000/year. I'll keep an eye on my rates at renewal, but needless to say, I was quite happy after that phone call.

edit: didn't realize I already posted in this thread!

Just got Metro Mile which is a cool new Insurance start-up that is well funded. It's a pay per mile model and is very inexpensive for drivers that don't do more than 600 miles per month.

I have a base payment of $70/month + $0.11/mile.
Also, if you're doing a long road trip they will only charge you up to 150 miles per day.

Geico quoted me $130/month
With Metro Mile I should be paying $110ish given the amount of miles I drive with a $250/deductible

Check it out!

Seems way out of line. but insurance is based on few factors some made up some legit. Best advise is to shop around. All things being equal, $2400 per year extra for the M4 is crazy.

Geico has a bad habit of discounting heavily initially then eventually creeping up every year. I mean... Every year without explanation.

My GEICO insurance policy for both the 2015 X3 28d and the M4 is only $155/mth.

100/300
$250 deductible
All the bells and whistles.

I was at $1500 yr. for the X5M and F80. With the X5 M gone, I'm at $736.00 a year for the F80, until I buy a replacement for the X5M and get my multi-car discount back. This is with Erie insurance.

Same boat... Not for long though. Have USAA, 2014 Grand Cherokee & 2014 M235i... Drop the M235i, add the M4... Up 600 a year...

CALL GEICO... Same exact policy 300/500/300..

LESS then what I was paying at USAA with the 235.

They are REALLY going after military people.

How about that...good you could lower your payment. Maybe I need to reassess my auto insurance.
