What bolts for Vorsteiner GTS lip and front splitters?

Hi everyone!

I just bought a Vorsteiner style front lip for my F82 and in the box I got a 15mm 3M tape to secure the lip, although the lip has around 10 holes already pre-drilled but without any screws in the box.

Does somebody know what bolts and what size to use to secure the lip? I want to secure it properly.

I also bought a set of carbon front splitters, those also came with only a 3M tape although they have a small piece on the part itself just like OEM to secure it with a bolt.
What bolt and size do I need to secure the front splitters?
Any advice how to drill carbon fibre without cracking it?

Wow, 202 views without a single reply. I will say that you will require 6-9 bolts altogether to properly secure a CF front lip. 6mm - 8mm should suffice, depending on how big the holes needs to be drilled. And you need to evenly space them out for maximum coverage and support for the CF Lip.

The holes are already drilled on the lip. I was curious what size of self tapping screws would I require to mount the lip securely together with the undrilled front splitters.

I personally haven't used self-tappers, I prefer to use nuts and bolts to mount a front lip. Just make sure that you can mount a washer behind the self-tapper, so that it can spread out the clamping force between the bumper and the lip.

If the mounting tabs line up with the original parts, which is a far cry for anything aftermarket you will only need to open the tab up with a drill bit and reuse the Oem bolts and aerospace clip nuts that originally came with the car.
Unfortunately, this is not the case for 98% of the aftermarket lips, diffusers, or skirts.
