if you search the forum for "Connected drive not working" you'll see the thread and a PDF copy of the bulletin. I wouldn't worry about it to much, I'm sure they'll have a fix for it soon. |

But to get traffic flow, and if you have the required option for ARTTI (6AM), and good reception/coverage/availability in your area, then you go in iDrive to Traffic, and make sure you have selected traffic flow and receive traffic information. I must admit that depending on the zoom level and traffic flow, sometimes it's hard to differentiate the traffic flow from the multiple lanes. I'll take a screenshot today during traffic. Here's four pics.
First one is without traffic flow, zoomed in. It's confusing that BMW maps display the road/highway in red to begin with...: Second one is with traffic flow, and it's really hard to see the flow when it's slow, they use an orange/red so it blends with the color of the road. Last two pics use a mode "Traffic info map", that shows better the traffic flow, 3rd pic with flow, 4th wo flow. Last edited by aboulfad; 10-21-2015 at 09:55 AM.. |

ok, you need to click on the sixth icon on the side "Traffic", and make sure you have the following two options selected:
- Traffic flow - Receive traffic info I am not sure which one does it, but i keep both selected. I also saw in this youtube video, that when you click on "options" button, there's an option to receive traffic info, but I dont have that. Good luck ! |

aboulfad I checked the settings and its all on. I guess its the 4g issue so I will ask dealer if they can fix it. I even noticed when I select "set clock automatically" it doesn't display the time meaning it's a connection issue. Thanks for the help

The traffic flow map is an utter mess. I have a 2016 and I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to look, but it's virtually unreadable. It's very difficult to tell the roads from the traffic flow and you can't tell what traffic is slow vs. fast. It all looks fast. Is this the broken connected drive?

The "cars" and 1min delay shown is for the entire 42mile trip and could be occuring beyond the portion of the map zoomed on. Zooming out could show the yellow/red sections .

That's possible, but not good. 1m is actually a decent view to see what's going on. Having to change the zoom in order to see the traffic would be nonsensical on BMW's part. You want to be able to see what's coming ahead, but if you have to zoom to only say .25 or .5 miles, you won't be able to. Not very well done.
