I would definitely wait. We will know in 2 days...
It looks like $20,000 over a regular M4 though. No small change...

Does anyone know the if CS package will include options that are currently offered and ordered for most cars? That may offset part of the price.

Or does the price include only CS specific parts (including parts off the GTS that cannot be ordered otherwise (unless one is willing to pay a lot of money)?

BMW Marketing could have opted for this suggestive tag line.

It is very likely (though this is just my guess) it will include the DCT transmission and ZCP (albeit with different wheels). So that's about $8k worth of what would normally be options included as standard equipment.

I would expect the MSRP to represent a fairly significant savings for the CS-specific content (be it borrowed from the GTS or otherwise) as compared to buying everything separately yourself after the fact.

I took delivery of an '18 M4 LCI ZCP on Thursday. Personally, I'm not worried about this release at all... especially if it's DCT only. I don't track my car.

Good point.

DCT only is a deal breaker for me as well (if I were in the market right now).

Is DCT only confirmed?

Is this going to be a limited production run? Might put a deposit on this tomorrow!

So, i suppose this means we're looking at:

M Sport / M / M CS = light / medium / hard

good for choice I guess, but lots of types of M's in there if that's right.

The M Sport is not really an M car, and should not be categorized in the same group as the M / M CS / M GTS.

It's actually getting even more granular than that :

///M-Sport -> ///M-Performance -> ///M -> ///M-CS -> ///M-GTS -> ///M-CSL

I just ordered one and wouldn't cancel even it I could get a CS with a very short delay from mine.

There's always going to be "newer", "better", "faster"...

If you get stuck in this mindset, you'll never be happy.

Where as I would wait if there's going to be a better version released shorty after your new 2018 M4. If you can wait, it'll be worth it, especially if it's going to be a limited production.

I've got a M4 CP that I got in Sept 2016 just before the Lci and I already envy the rear lights on the Lci which I'm considering getting retrofitted. If you can afford and have the patience to wait then wait.

From somewhere on the internetz:

Quote:
The next story in the BMW M lineup will be unveiled this week as the new M4 CS prepares to show its design and tech at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show. Just a few months ago, a selected group of journalists, including *******, had the chance to see M4 CS behind closed doors. Some of these information are still under embargo, but several others leaked onto the interwebs recently.

Images of the super sporty M4 Coupe were leaked February during a BMW commercial filmed in California. Professional driver Augusto Farfus has taken the reigns of the M4 CS showcasing its driving capabilities on video. Today, a new set of teaser images arrive from China, showing some of the design cues of the M4 CS.

The front end gets the facelifted headlights, along with the power dome hood from the M4 GTS. A unique carbon fiber front splitter is also part of the package, along with a new set of wheels and carbon ceramic brakes.

The biggest changes come in the rear though. Just like the M4 GTS, the M4 CS sports coupe features OLED taillights which thanks to their graphics, give the car a more exclusive look. A newly developed carbon fiber trunk lip and a rear diffuser round up the changes in the back. There will be some changes to the exhaust system as well, but more on that at launch time.

There will be some other changes inside the car as well and under the hood, but more on that this week.

hi Scott. Is the CSL is really burried under the rock now at M? or we can still expect an M2 CSL coming or just CS?
