How would i tell the difference. Got somebody selling so wanted to know if there is anything to look for. Here are his pictures. (I would be the purchaser, just doing due diligence)

just request video of the backside of the tailights to see the part number & manufacturer sticker
also BMW OLED stamped on the corners of the lights

The corner will say BMW oled under the lens of the quarter mounted lights and have BMW stickers on the back. Aftermarket also have gold resistors mounted on the back to prevent hyper flashing.

i know one of the main differences is my vland have a startup animation where after the main sequence they blink on and off twice. the real ones don’t blink twice like these do. if there’s any possibility of him showing you that then that’s a way

One looks like aftermarket trash, the other like no other automotive lighting unit to date including those laser lights on the new M4 CSL.
Have them take a pic from a side angle. The OLEDs are actually very thin, mirror finished wafers which look nothing like the chunky, lego block style plastic aftermarket bs. P.S. Those pics look like they were taken on a Blackberry camera
