Boost leak
Did a couple runs a couple nights ago before my road trip up to WA and heard a pop and the charge pipe popped off the coupler. Reinstalled it and cleared codes but still not getting boost. I can hear turbo noises and spool in efficient/comfort mode now when I don't before.
checked my charged pipe, j pipe, intakes, maf sensors and everything seemed snugged and not loose. Keep getting drivetrain malfunction after a 3-6k pull in sport + 120308 boost pressure regulation, plausibility: pressure too low 108F01 Intake system: Suspected Leak between turbocharger and intakes valves 102001 Air mass too high 102E11 No description available 102901 No description available Car is on OTS stage 2 BM3 VRSF charged pipes Turner Motorsport Intake Been driving around Seattle and all these cars wants to play around on the freeway at night and I'm driving the in the slow lane not trying to hit boost |

Take the whole pipe off and make sure the bottom (where the o ring goes) isn’t cracked or damaged.

Also if it’s vrsf chargepipes. Check that the meth bung screws are in. I had an issue with my old 335i and it was the screw that had fallen off.

This happened me recently where the clamp I used (cheap jubilee clip, not OEM) on one of the couplers gave up the ghost. Did a pull in Sport+ and there was an almighty bang which frightened the shite out of me. I was sure it was a turbo after exploding but fortunately it wasn't.
I replaced the clamp, cleared codes and all was fine. Check that the pipes are seated correctly on the turbos and that there are no cracks. The longish locating bolt on the turbo side of the pipes is only there to locate the pipe, it doesn't hold the pipe down by any means. |
