BMW camaraderie is all but gone.

I can maybe get an acknowledgement from another ///M-car driver with 1:10 chance these days. Usually an occasional M5 or an M6 with a younger (<50 yo) driver.

Driving F80 I only get thumbs up and waves from Honda and Toyota drivers. One even followed me to a hotel parking lot the other month, and we ended up talking cars for good 15 minutes.
Chance of that happening with another BMW driver these days?
Infinitesimally small.
Maybe if they have a CCA sticker on their car, but even those are getting harder and harder to find.

Back on the subject - I get smoked by a Tesla Model 3 Performance, with annoying regularity.
My wife drives it. She loves rubbing it in. So do the kids.

My only recourse? Grab the Tesla before she does.
Otherwise, it's no contest @public road speeds.

A stupid black F30 340i all blacked out with cf bits and a dealer vanity plate that said executive and had the most obnoxious burble tune. I was in my M3 with my in-laws and my baby boy, who was sleeping mind you, and this asshole kept creeping up on me, then tailgating and doing his gunshot burbles. Ugh. All while in 405 traffic. I think he really wanted to see if he could beat an M3. Who knows maybe he could but I don’t care. Just don’t wake up my son! Ugh.

I’m really starting to hate bburble tunes. Thank god I have a manual without a tune.

Had the opportunity to play with a gym-buddies 2017 auto Charger Hellcat in that gorgeous metallic (plum crazy?)purple colour.

Two back to back 40km/h rolls and I couldn't believe I had several cars on him before 100.

Also played with a 2016 S3 with APR stage 2+ high output and completely gutted.

The F8X platform continues to impress me with just FBO and tune.

Nice! I'm stage 2 Gintani w/downpipes and didn't think I can hang with the Hellcats. Are you on E85 Tune? What Bolt Ons?

I raced a 2nd gen Cummins single cab and I shit you not thing gave me a run for my money! Rolling coal all the way to 120. Of course the M3 took the W, but it was fun playing with a Cummins, sweet ass ride. Went around one corner and legit thought he was about to flip lol. This truck was BUILT.

LOL - a couple months ago coming back from deep West Texas, some knothead in an 4x4 F250 decides he's going to race the M4. On a twisty back road, no less.

He passes me in a two-lane passing zone, and I happily give him 100 yards then match his speed. Rabbit!

Then he decides to "lose me", and keeps going faster and faster in increasingly tight corners. I actually started backing off some so he didn't roll in a corner, but finally he hits a corner so fast that part of his load of cement bags in the back slide over and fall out of his truck - which I missed by a quick swerve into the shoulder.

Dude - it's a pickup truck. I like pickup trucks, but they aren't sports cars.

Been noticing a new 540i by my office parking lot for a couple of months now, not knowing who it belonged to. Yesterday, I found out it belonged to one of the new hires another manager brought in. The manager told me the kid asked who the M3 belonged to and started talking about how his 5 series would definitely beat my car. I had a feeling the manager was trolling me so I told him the kid had to beat him in his C5 Grand Sport first before he can see me.

I was not even aware that I am racing someone until he moved slightly to the side. Big supersport bike, stuck 10ft or less to my rear left quarter, while driving at 170+ mph. Backed off immediately, let him by. I don't race on public roads.

He might have been there for a while.

Heard a big bike revving his engine as I was merging but could not see it anywhere, so I thought it's on the other side. The unrestricted section then began, gave the car the full beans...only to discover the guy later while doing well over 170. Never happened to me before, was so mad at what could have happened that I almost followed the guy and wanted to call the police. One more reason to install dashcams already...front and rear looking.

Crazy story. Dash cam in your case may have just landed both of you in jail, unless you were on the autobahn.
