S65B44 - would by my choice of engine for the new M4.
450 hp, NA response, sound & sexyness Together with the weight reduction and the M4 looks - full win. I am just dreaming... |

I like it. I don't really love it but hey, I wouldn't kick it out of bed, if you know what I mean... If they would have kept the V8, I'd definitely be in love.

The new M team has already failed pretty bad with the F1x Ms, which lost in their first year out. I hope they do a better job with the F8xM, but their direction shows otherwise. |

The GTS tuned S65 would have been perfection.

The M3 is a different animal to other M-cars. It is, and always has been, the car M-engineers care about more than any other. While we do have to wait for it to be released, I'm almost positive it won't disappoint. So, color me as an unbiased E92 M3 owner/lover who is planning on buying an F80. |

I don't know about guys, but coming from a B5 S4, B7 A4 and my current e92 modded 335i. I am stoked to see what tuners do to this thing!

The inevitable CSL version of this one may be quite good, but the N54/N55 does not belong in any M car regardless of how tuned it is. |

I agree that they care about this one more than the rest of the Ms. I take the addition of the Comp Pack on the F1x Ms as a clear admission that it sucks, because we've never seen ZCP so soon. Hopefully they will have learned from those, but if the new 3/4 are any indication.... |

Just keep whatever it is you have and be happy with that. If not, find another car than the M4. There is plenty to choose from.

It sucks because that's the general consensus on proper car mags. What Motortrend had to say about the last M6 they tested is flat out terrible. EVO, C&D, Insideline have all said similar things.
This seems like an admission from the M team that it does suck. They should not be changing the steering, bushings, etc a year after it started production. |

And if anyone is keeping count, a 24% of current M owners disapprove of the new car.
The poll talks about 'current M3 owners' and then lets people who don't have Ms vote. Confusing... |

I can't get over that line in the front of the hood. I like the more muscular look, certainly makes it look more manly - my wife prefers the more rounded E9x look. In fact, right now it looks a little bit too aggressive for me, but maybe I'll warm up to it. :P

Thanks for pointing that out. At first I thought, "only 13%???", but then you have to take into account the two groups in the pool. Confusing indeed...

Reviews are starting to come in of the latest F-series car, the F15 X5 and they are not good if you like me lament the change BMW has made from taut, communicative and agile cars to soft, vague luxo cruisers. It's the same old story with the F15, steering is bad and suspension is smooth but not sporty. I really hope the F80 brakes away from all F-series dynamics and steering and actually improves on them instead of at best retaining and more likely degrade from the current car. Is it possible? I'm growing more and more concerned but I dearly hope so.
I do find myself trying to make the numbers work for a 991 though. BMW, time to drop some more juicy F80 info to keep us inline. Last edited by solstice; 08-30-2013 at 04:15 PM.. |

Also, it says E9x owners. Almost sure there's a lot of non-E9x people here. *cough* |
