Does Toyos R888R handle +800HP in straight line?

I'm tuning my car to 850WHP and I was wondering if those tires could handle that amount of power.

NITTO NT555R2 or NT05R

From my experience once you break 600/600 R888R Are ice skates.

I'm only about 700HP and can spin my 325/30/19 R888s on demand in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I hear the Nittos hold but haven't tried them on the street myself. I mostly drag race so I use Hoosier DR2s for grip from a dig, but they're squirrely at speed on the highway.

I recommend you give the NT555R2 a shot once your r888 wear out, I do commute in the rain and the water channels are rather deep so it is safe. I can report no squirrely feelings at speeds up to 160. havent gone over that. The 305/35/19 will grip more. I usually run them at 25-26psi cold. You'll hook in 2nd. Not sure for 1st gear on the street. I hook in 1st but you make more power than me.

No. Can vouch, low-mid 600ish on this platform still breaks them loose.

They hold 1050whp on my E46 If you expect a tire to hold through the low gears and lower rpm's where some S55's are generating 550+ rwtq by 3000rpm then you're going to find it a struggle to find a tire that consistently will hook on the street in general. In my experience, the R888R's are the best tire available for the street and will do great in nearly all environments (yes I've driven them in a surprise light snow coming through a mountain pass and wouldn't recommend but I did make it). I've not found a better tire.

the S55 is a torque monster, especially when tuned.

Im not aware of any street tires that will hold traction on lower gears with that kind of torque

The r888r stop gripping after 5k miles even though there's tread left. The rubber compound gets hard couldn't hold 500whp on 305/30

All you guys that say R888's don't grip... You do understand that the tire needs to be hot, right? They take a while to get there but they grip just fine when they're hot. They might not dead hook @ 850rwhp, but they should be fine.

As far as the tire not gripping after 5K miles and the rubber compound getting hard....
A. These tires cannot see freezing temperatures as it compromises the compound.
B. They do have a heat cycle limit. They are not really meant to be on a DD. It is a performance tire.

At the end of the day, it is the best tire that can be used on the street for straight line traction if you don't want to sacrifice cornering grip. If you don't mind losing your cornering grip, just get M/T ET Streets... but even those will spin unless warmed up and aired out.

For mileage. Depends on driving habits. 5,000-10,000+ is realistic. I think most generally get 6,000-8,000. Obviously less if you track them or are constantly roasting them.

This is f80post you got guys running extreme performance summer tires in the winter complaining that they get no traction

I agree with you, R888's def hook up when theyre hot and between 28-30psi.

For the 1/4 mile Mickey Thompson et street is really good.

For daily stuff NT01 has been good but if you’re only going straight nt555R

with that low of sidewall it wont hold 500. I had 315/30/19 and e85 and couldnt get traction on a 40 roll.. you need 40+ sidewall. Buy rear drag wheels 18" and do 305/40/18. Thats what I had to do, but it stlll wouldnt hold a street launch on e85. 40 rolls would hook, and it would hook decently from a dig at the track.

Get a proper alignment and adjust your suspension for more straight line stuff and you’ll have much better traction. People often overlook the suspension.

18” tires also help! They ride much better than 19s to daily as well.

I agree 18's + more sidewall and less psi is the key to grip. I always see people running with bad alignments, Super wide tires with tiny sidewalls and high pressure complaining about grip.
