Damn what a headache. I'd be heated.. hope it works out in your favor and you don't take a loss for something that wasted your time and money. I understand stuff happens but if dealer told me my brand new car needs until next spring to be fixed well by end of fall /winter that wouldn't be the car I'd be driving. Hope you don't get stuck in a BS situation.

Excessive oil usage on a N/A car is almost always a ring issue. I can't stress the importance of a proper ring break-in enough, especially in these instances. I've seen this time and time again.

If you end up getting a new engine or a new car, do some research on how to properly break-in the rings or PM me for my method. A properly broken-in set of rings will use much less oil, be more efficient and make more power.

My dealer actually said this is what Ford Performance said/thinks the issue is. The original plan was to get the new engine and use break in oil with a specific break-in plan. Apparently Ford Performance is now saying that plan won't work and they working on a different way to fix it. That is really all I know at this point.

I'm dropping it back off tonight to the dealer because the oil usage is now at about a quart every 600ish miles. Plus with the latest recall with oil cooler lines, I really don't feel comfortable driving it anymore. We'll see what they say this go around.

Thanks for the offer BTW.

Lets not make this sound like all gt350s are dumping oil. Majority of owners have no problems w multiple track days and 15k plus miles. Mine has 1100 mi and so far zero issue. The recall does suck, since i hate taking my car to any dealership..

Very true, but mine was the same way at 1100 miles. I didn't start noticing anything until around 3000. I obviously hope yours stays trouble free though.

GT350 was a great car. It's just not very polished. Terrible fit and finish. I need a multi purpose car that is not only fast and sporty but well put together also.

If it was only going to be a fun car then there are better choices for a fun only car.

Definitely going to miss that exhaust note!!!!

If anything ride is more comfy in gt350 w magna ride. Just as big of a trunk space as M. Fit n finish on body panels are only gripes i have. If you needed a usable rear seats, should've checked that before purchase.
And no, what other "fun" sports car at 56k range brand new are out there that makes all the right noises w perfect manual tranny, great chassis, NA v8 w 8250 rpm? Ive had evo, 918 boxster s, m5 before and by far this car is on top of "fun" factor.

Lol. I think you don't understand. My decision doesn't have to make any sense to others. Made sense to me and that's all that counts.

80%+ of GT350s sold for $5k to $10k over so its not really a 56k car.

put together like a 26k car though.

Well here are the facts and my opinion....

1- I really wanted a GT350 so I bought it. I was really excited about the engine. I had heard about ford working on a flat crank years ago and didn't think they were going to make it.

2- it was my daily driver and it was ok but the cheapness of the car and build quality started bothering me. If it's just a fun car then I guess most people won't care.

3- I hated the clutch... absolutely horrible. This is after installing the steeda spring.

4- Engine is a little rough. Really felt like it's going to fall apart near redline. I guess that's what you get when you make a large FPC engine.

5- if you are driving it as a daily then you're just hauling around in a plain old mustang. I guess they should've done a better job making it a GT350 on the inside. Maybe Alcantara dash and headliner? On the seats with partial leather?? How about CF trim?

I realize aftermarket could've fixed this but that's aftermarket. I paid $9k for GTS interior on my Porsche, I would've done the same here.

Again I realize that if it's your fun weekend car then it's a great car for the money.
