Engine oil level sensor stops measuring at 16%

IDrive allows engine oil measurement; however after selection the engine oil level sensor stops measuring at 16%, while car is in neutral, on level ground and with the engine at normal operating temperatures. Tried a forum search, no conclusive info.

iDrive states the engine oil level is “Ok.”

No tune, attempted pre and post 30min+ drive, and then allowed again for cooling period, no joy. Suspect defective oil level sensor.

Any thoughts?

Probably level sensor but try this: Disconnect battery for 30min and reconnect, clear any codes from battery reconnection...then go for a drive and check.

Oil pressure controller valve plug was disconnected. No warnings or messages, just a DME error when scanned.

Happens to me too. I have to keep trying sometimes and after a few attempts it works. I miss having an old fashion dipstick.
