Insurance will not fix frame or structural damage, that's an easy total. Why would you even want it back?? lol. They're not rare cars, take the insurance payout and grab another one. Car looks stock too so not like you're losing money on mods.

On the OP, the insurance would most likely use a new bumper, right fender and hood. Can’t say about brand. They would attempt to find a used headlight from LKQ What’s hidden beyond that is anyone’s guess, but I’m certainly not seeing anything close to $35k worth of repairs. But again, I want to know what Insurance you think is going to replace every part with new parts. |

It'll never drive or feel the same post-repair. I would push to get it totaled and get another F80 or upgrade to something else.
I'm glad you are ok. Cars are replaceable but I know it sucks. Wishing you the best.

That was the case when my F25 was rear ended at 11 months new. Total repair cost was $18,000 and keep in mind there was no frame or mechanical damage. In total my car sat there for 2 months. Part of the reason it took so long was because the shop owner pointed out that BMW offered the hatch with privacy glass (i.e. pre-tinted) from factory. I wasn’t even aware that was an option but since I wasn’t paying for it, I told him to go for it. Only problem was it took 5 weeks to arrive. The only part that wasn’t replaced was the hood, which he had no problem straightening out. Few years later, same shop replaced my Z4 front and rear bumpers when someone parked behind me on a hill and let it off the brake too soon. At the time, I actually recall being in his office and asking for the Aero bumper. He punched in the p/n and saw there were only 7 left in the whole country. He ordered it right then and there. Only thing reused were the kidney grills. Total repair bill on that was little under $3,000 for what was effectively 2 bumpers, 1 refurbished wheel and labor/paint. And re the wheel, it was my choice whether to keep existing or refinish. I chose the latter since it already had some curb rash leading up to the accident. |

I mean you what you say is correct. but at 35k for that kinda of damage for a car that is worth 40ishk. something doesn't add up. 10k sure, 15k sure, but 35k come on now. |

That's totalled, you said frame damage, start shopping for another one. 35 k is a bit high but not out of the realm. I would have guessed 25k and or just north of there. Parts/supplies alone will be over 10k easy with out laying a hand on it.

That's why it's going to be totaled. My Mazda 3 is worth $2500. If a piano falls on it, it's going to cost way more than $2500 to fix, so no one is gonna fix it. The car's value doesn't really change how much it costs for new parts and labor.

$35k is an extreme overexaggeration, and that being so, they will total it.
This is a $8.5k job, contingent one does all the work (primarily cosmetic) himself bar pulling the frame. Pulling a frame is less than $1,000 for reference. Take it to a quality shop, you might come out to $15-17k including labour. Enjoy your new ride!
