They are still using the old "valve in the shock" method for adaptive shocks, while the rest of the world is going to the superior magnetic shocks technology.

Saw and sat in a GT350 at LA Auto Show this past weekend...my lawd
The tranny felt precise and clicks into each gear, obviously with the engine off, but felt way better than previous gen's 5.0 tranny |

You can add a rear seat to the GT350R with a kit straight from Ford.
Part Number: M-63840-MS Installation Instructions: https://fordperformanceracingparts.c...M-63840-MS.pdf MSRP: $999. Probably will retail for less Last edited by CirrusSR22; 11-30-2015 at 07:52 PM.. |

GT350 numbers (0-60,100,130,150,1/4,trap,skidpad) are eerily identical to 6MT M4 they tested.

A BMW M will never, ever be an American muscle car - never. People that buy ///Ms don't want American muscle

I'm 100% positive that the majority of ///M enthousiast would have prefered a more visceral engine like this V8 5.2L to replace the venerable S65 instead of the rather soulless S55, because that's what ///M has accostumed us to. But since BMW is in the market of making profit they went with a 335 engine on steroid instead of doing what Ford has had the guts to do, which is building a real racing engine from the ground up. |

I also have to disagree with your assessment of the M's engine (of course I have to, right?). Sure the exhaust sound isn't the greatest by many people's perspective but exhaust sound is only one component of an engine and can be easily tweaked to your liking by a number of aftermarket options. All the other components of the engine make it special and unique like the wide band of torgue and power, relatively high speed for a turbo engine, responsiveness adjustability, absence of overheating, and not to mentioned better fuel economy (did you see the Mustang's mpg?) Sorry if you think that is soulless.. I heard that the Fiat Abarth has a good rumble, you might like that. Also, what makes you think the engine is just a tidied up 335? From the C&D article, it looks as if Ford didn't even make a proper flat-plane engine and is last-gen technology throughout Edit: forgot to mention that the S55 won engine of the year when it debuted... soulless perhaps |

forget what a SHELBY used to be. forget what an M3 (M4 now) used to be.
Right now, people are cross shopping them both. Myself included. BMW still has the fit and finish and prestige, but DAMN that flat crank in the Voodoo!! That and it's new handling capability will probably have me leave the German fold and give this GT350 a go. |

@///Mpossible.
"I'm 100% positive that M enthusiasts would have preferred.... " blah, blah blah! Well "I'm 100% positive" that I disagree. Hahaha!! As does anyone I meet who is drooling on my car. I wouldn't be surprised if you were employed somehow by chevy, ford, cadillac, etc. to rain on BMW's parade. Smile buddy.... it's good to be wrong once in a while! |

It has probably been said before in this thread, but if you want a harder core track car I would go with the GT350/R. If you want a more all around car that you can still take to the track then get the M3/4. |
