To add more to the chaos how do we feel about oil types with upgraded turbos? (Hybrid PS2+) Pure recommends Liquid Moly but I am starting to think its more of a brand support more than anything.

I am assuming with upgraded turbos we'd need a oil that would be more sustainable to heat so higher weight?

I am currently using Liquid Moly 5w-30 but open to moving to something else. I live in the MD and daily drive my car and do some pulls here and there and plan to do 1-2 track days a year eventually (when weather permits).

Any thoughts? edycol

Absolutely it is brand promotion.
If track is involved (not AutoX), always XW40. It is not weight, but HTHS that matters. For track any oil that has Porsche A40 approval will do it as Porsche has specific track requirements for A40 approval. Motul X-Cess 5W40, Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40, Castrol 0W40, Mobil1 0W40, Valvoline 5W40. They will all cut it for few track days and street driving.

LiquiMarketing has two oils (A40 and hightech) A40 approved and is recommended for LL01 but approved for HT. And I believe those approvals are new. Still not touching the stuff even if it were free!

Yes they do. I would put their oils in Castrol Edge 5W40 category. Average, nothing special.

Porsche c40 is also for track. is there any other difference between these 2 approvals except higher/lower saps?

Yeah, C40 should have track testing too. No any difference except C40 is DPF/GPF compatible.

It’s a decent oil so no reason to not use it if you don’t mind the cost compared to other LL01 oils you can get at WalMart.

The 8100 power is only offered on FCP Euro in 5L, whereas X-Gen 2 can be purchased in 1L.
If I use the 5L of 8100 power, would it be bad to top off with 1L of X-Gen 2 in the same weight, or should I just buy two 5Ls of the 8100 power?

The input that you'll receive is as diverse as the comments. Everyone has there own opinion on which oil is better or worse than others. I personally use Liqui Moly 5W-40 Synthetic. The only thing that truly matters is that you change your oil often, if you do that then it really doesn't matter what oil you use as long as it's equivalent to what the OEM recommends.

Not sure if you were replying to me, but that wasn’t exactly my Q.
My Q was if I could top off 5L of 8100 power with 1L of X-Gen II in same weight, since FCP doesn’t sell 1L bottles of 8100 power.

Assume that I will absolutely be using 8100 power, so an answer of just using all X-Gen II also wouldn’t be a direct answer to my Q.

Many thanks.

I did my oil change last month. This was my order from FCP Euro. They carry the 1L .

Thanks man, I’ve seen your videos and the one about returning oil to FCP was my tutorial.
This is the oil I referencing though.

Appreciate you bro. Just got CDL license, so I got more free time now and finally some good weather again. So new videos coming soon.

Yeah that oil is different.
